Great rhythms and flow. Good beats. Interludes which I always love as a conceit. Maybe some tracks get lost in a sea of same?

Great album that I'm not really a fan of? A few real bright spots and I do love the interlude tracks.

What a great funk and jazz album.

I like the density of melody but I'm not crazy about the lyricism and vocal style. The mix is very nice and pleasingly rich.

Not what I prefer. A couple of interesting tracks. Felt kind of phoned in?

Absolutely one of the greatest jazz albums of all time. I used to have an old boss who would play this album at noon everyday. I caught the shot. He loved it. I got to where I loved it too. I still do. Really holds up even after all the listens.

Felt like it never picked up. Just didn't capture my interest once.

One of my favorite albums of all time. I just can't find any real fault with it and there is so much to enjoy. It's so textural and fun.

Just too bloody long.

I like Devo conceptually. I am happy Devo exists. I don't really enjoy it though.

Great collection of standards. I might prefer more original songs but that isn't maybe what this asl um is about.
What a wonderful and fun album. I don't think I've ever listened to the whole thing consecutively. It's odd to think that come on. Eileen would be one of the weaker tracks in retrospect. Still a great song but not as engaging as several of them.

The title track is amazing. Not a bad lyric amongst the songs. That is saying something given how heavy handed Cohen was in general. Here's to Canada's man in black.

Even if you don't care for AiC in a general or genre sense this is a superbly put together album. Every song is varied within the context of the genre. The band sounds fantastic. The talent is there. Jerry and Layne have incredible chemistry together in terms of harmony. Another pair who debatably aren't the best vocal soloists but, like Simon and Garfunkel, are preposterously good together. If you don't mind metal-borne grunge this is pretty much as good as it gets.

Odd and punky and fun.

A lot harder than I thought it would be. Definitely had more metal elements that I would've expected more from an album a few years later. Pretty good.

Love the first song. Unfortunately it kind of goes on for the whole album? I found myself wishing for significantly more diversity.
Adorable.

Odd and engaging. Particularly loved the little storybook stings between songs. It was fine.

It's a really good album but perhaps I was not totally into the mood? Either way, great composition.
