The Good: Guyville getting a little estrogen!
The Bad: That the lady feels like she's exiled...
The Ugly: Fucking deportation from Guyville...

What?

Liz Phair... I'd heard of her back in the day... I'd not listened to her.
Now I have. I liked it.

Loads of strong lyrics that show a woman can be sexual too... then you read what she says in interviews, and that this is not her being all sexual, and all of a sudden the boobies on the album cover just don't feel the same... what?

Anyway, did enjoy the album... so good on Liz!

4*

The Good: He’s got the worry, not me!
The Bad: I’d be worried too though…
The Ugly: Exploding blues… it gets nasty!

Yeah… no need to waste words on this atrocity.

In order to save 1996, please listen to Matchbox 20, The Wallflowers… Tool?

Skip this album… it was horrid to listen to, and I regret having to dish out a 1*

The Good: We finally get the truth!
The Bad: It took 13 tries…
The Ugly: The previous twelve lies!!!

Never ever heard of this lady. What a inspiring, yet sad story.

When the first song kicked in my instant reaction was “WTF am I being forced to listen to now?” That feeling really didn’t leave after the second song… as a matter of fact, when I was done with the record, I was kind of happy…

However, as I was on my morning walk, and the walk lasts about 80-85 minutes, and I only had this album uploaded on my smart-watch, well… I had to listen to it again.
Some how, the album actually started growing on me.

Then, 1 day later, now that I know the trick of listening to the next album without having placed a review of the previous one, I decided to listen to the new album… this morning… during my walk…
That fucking album was a nightmare… so I listened to this album again.

Congrats Laura on these 4*

The Good: We know where the madman is!
The Bad: Even on the other side, madness still follows us…
The Ugly: Finding out that the Insaneman lives next door…

I forget when it was, though I know that it was well before I started this journey here, that I decided to listen to the complete discography of certain big names in the music industry.
Elton was one of them there names.

Why this album is on the list, and Honky Chateaux isn’t beats me… it is a far superior album imho.

This one, well it starts of grand, and is followed up by a song which, though I am certain I had listened to before, I couldn’t recall vividly listening to… Levon, what a gem of a tune…
The rest of the album… filler. Bad filler.

I feel bad for the madman across the water… he deserves better than this…

3*

The Good: I do believe this is the last album of Cohen on the list that I will be forced to listen to…
The Bad: The simple fact I’ve had to listen to so many Cohen records on this list…
The Ugly: My Man? Really?

I am going to keep this one short and sweet…
During my walk, on the third song of this record, my earbuds decided to crash out… this made me happy as I could finish off the album in silence.

Massive fan of the song Hallelujah, yet that album is not on the list…

So, to all you Cohen aficionados, I am happy that you got to listen to 5 of his albums…
Do me a favor, and listen to Prince’s Around The World In A Day, that way we can call it evens-stevens, okay?

2* out of respect for the man’s oeuvre

The Good: We are getting washed in Vitamin D!!!
The Bad: Don’t know if I need to get hit though.,..
The Ugly: All the terrible play on words we can come up with the bands name… nobody’s Bee’s knees

What the fuck did I just listen to?
Not that it was bad. Musically, it was actually pretty good. Again, what the fuck did I just listen to?

Were the Bees searching for an identity and decided to just try out one too many styles? Also, Moog synth?

Well… it was to be expected that Mr D picks any British band that has been nominated for a Mercury Prize… good for you.

Listened, no need to listen again…

2* because I am pissed.

The Good: We get to stay at the bar and get sloshed!
The Bad: Showing up at home, drunk as a skunk, the door remains locked…
The Ugly: Well… if you can’t get lovin’ at home…

Is this album on the list because we really need to hear the entire album, or could this have been a mistake and Mr D mistakenly swapped his 1001 songs to get drunk to list?

My finger started twitching by the time song two was half-way through, and it didn’t stop twitching till the album was over… which, seeing as the album lasts about as long as an elephant’s fart, it isn’t that bad. Still, this album tested my willingness to listen to each and every song.

Tragic story, Loretta’s life. Glad she was able to make a good living.
Me, happy that this ordeal is over with…

2*

The Good: We are warned about the state of affairs…
The Bad: We are NOT in agreement..
The Ugly: The way you look after having an agreement with Slipknot…

I’ve known about Slipknot for years.
I’ve probably seen clips of live performances where mayhem is what’s generated a hundred times.
I’ve thought about listening to their stuff several times—just note that I am not a metalhead…

So, here was the first time… and it was a good time!
Sometimes you need something to bang your head to… this could be that something. I feel energized… and I am ready to start a moshpit!

Of course, this is not the kind of music one should listen to if you suffer from road-rage and you are stuck in a traffic jam…
Or if you are the dentist office and it seems that there is no end to the rush-interventions the dentist needs to take care of today…

Still… grateful to have listened to it… and will listen to again…

The Good: We know we are getting nourished!
The Bad: Turns out we are allergic to shell-fish...
The Ugly: Barfing up the Hot Dog water...

Fuck me, and Fuck this, and Fuck that!
Loved it!
Oddly enough, did not love it when it came out back in the day... but now, older me, the angsty Gen-X'er, well, I got nothing but pumped.

Yes, I know that Fred D has the label of douchebag wrapped all around him... but damnit, there he is, knowing just what to say in case I want to break shit... which was the only song I was missing here...

Then there is mr guitar jingle-jangle man, who is one of the greatest showman on that instrument of his generation, as far as I'm concerned.

This album was generated on my list on August 17 2026, and I've played it about 5-6 times since then... and today, just to refresh my memory, I played it again and just smiled.

Well deserved you fuckers!!!
5*

The Good: We get some SOUL music!!!
The Bad: Somebody decided to use a Soul name for souless music…
The Ugly: The answer to the non-question of the album title being NO!

Fuck me, what the hell was that?
Someone with a deep love for musicals deciding to bring it into the 2010’s?

I listened to it… I can die…

1*

The Good: Who doesn’t like pretty things?
The Bad: Fucking psychedelic drugs screwing up the pretty things…
The Ugly: The Sorrow…. Oh… The Sorrow…

Right, said Fred, who’s up for a trip?
Affirmative I said… and off we went.

Nothing that I say has not been said before by others, on how this album is surprisingly good, and surprisingly similar to other products from that era, yet, it was there first, and yet, we never heard of it… at least, us who aren’t music snobs.

Anyways, it was an interesting ride… not the greatest, but certainly not the worst ride I’ve been on these past 786 rides…

Going to take a gamble and give this album a 4* rating as I will want to listen to this again at some point in the future…

4*

21Adele

Rated 8/10

The Good: Ahhh, to be 21 again…
The Bad: 21 did come with some mayor issues… cashflow, being one of them
The Ugly: The poor breakup Adele seems charged with…

Believe it or not, it has taken me 15 years to listen to this album for the first time… and it was well worth the wait.
To think that according to my experience there hasn’t been anything decent produced since the 2000s showed it’s face—barring some exceptions obviously—and then you finally listen to this more than excellent freshmen attempt.

Bravo, Adele, bravo.

I listened to the album two times in a row, and couldn’t find a song I disliked, at all… wow.
You’d think that I would instantly give this album a 5* rating… but you’d be thinking wrong.

You see… covering a The Cure song… you don’t do that… and then, there is that one excellent song that, for whatever reason, all of a sudden includes a choir… bitch please…

Aside from that… wow.

4*

The Good: We wish we all could be Californian…
The Bad: No blond girls here, nor DLR…
The Ugly: AMC… didn’t they make the Gremlin?

Fuck me, that was harsh to listen to.
As with many, scratching my head as to why this album is on the list while, it turns out, someone had to submit Talk Talk’s Spirit of Eden album?
Also, why do I have to listen to another bore like Morrissey?

There is a reason, I am guessing, that most of us never heard of this music club before… back into the box.
I am currently listening to an album another person referenced in their rating: The Feelies album The Good Earth… much better!

2*

The Good: We finally receive that special packet!
The Bad: Ours got switched in the mail…
The Ugly: Humpty’s nose… I mean, seriously… that’s a gherkin fo sho

Fuck me, to think that I was going to not find another hip hop album to like… until the fucking digital underground presented themselves!

I’d say this album oozes “let’s have some fun”
Listening to this for the first time in my life, only familiar with the opening song which was everywhere in 1990, I have to say that I wasn’t bored. However, and this would be my gripe, I don’t know if I would be able to handle the album in its entirety with a set frequency… unless that frequency is once a year, or every other year.

Still, instead of stating “bitch suck my dick”, here the ladies are enticed to just get busy with the afore mentioned gherkin.

I really want to give this 4*… I really do… but I can’t

3*

KenzaKhaled

Rated 4/10

The Good: We get something different!!!
The Bad: Getting kicked in the nuts is something different too…
The Ugly: I am not going to say it… okay, I will… that John Lennon cover song…

RAI, or Rural Access Index, is significant as it measures the proportion of the rural population living within 2 km of an all-season road, serving as an important indicator for poverty and sustainable development.
Oh, wait, wrong RAIRAI, or Radiotelevisione Italiana, is Italy's public service broadcaster, playing a crucial role in providing news, entertainment, and educational content to the public.
Damn, did it again…
RAI, Respiratory Arousal Index, measures the number of times per hour that brief awakenings occur in response to breathing disruptions during sleep, often tracked alongside the apnea–hypopnea index in sleep studies.

Okay, we all know that RAI really stands for Return As Is… which is how I will rate this album…

It was different, that will give it 2*, however, this sounded like it was recorded 20 years earlier than it actually was… nothing noteworthy for me here…

2*

... this is the first album that I did not listen to...

Not because I have an issue with the album, but more because I was not able to find it available in a format that suited the moment--yes, I know that I can find it on youtube, but I hate listening to albums on youtube.

So, in order not to tip the scale up or down, this get's a 3*

PornographyThe Cure

Rated 8/10

The Good: Teenagers are going to love this!… and old perverts too!
The Bad: Ohhh… this is not that kind of pornography…
The Ugly: … I mean, had the lotion all ready… then needed to reach over for a razorblade…

Damn Mr Smith, how low can you go?
This is indeed not something to listen to while you are trying to enjoy summer vibes… yet, oddly enough, this is when the album is presented to me.

I’ve started to appreciate The Cure a lot more these last few years, yet, this album does test the limit a little.
Not that it is bad. On the contrary, I’d say it is real good… if you want to feel down.

I am currently listening to a ‘70s radio hits playlist… it is making me feel generous, so I guess that The Cure, on this journey, has gotten 4* on all their albums…
Congrats Mr Smith!

4*

The Good: We’re allowed to land!
The Bad: We don’t know where we’re landing…
The Ugly: Our usher did not look like the damsel on the album cover…

This could very well be one of the last albums that I recall buying.
After all, Pirate Bay was still out there…

Don’t recall how many times I’ve listened to the album, plenty of times as it was in the cd-stack in my car… remember those, kids?

It was a joy listening to it today, and I know that I will listen to it again tomorrow… it is a pick-me-uper for sure.
Also, for those of you who like listening to music reviews, justinhawkinsridesagain.com…

To all you hater… I believe in a thing called love, so I won’t hold your bad taste against you…

5*

The Good: Modern rock!
The Bad: Modern rock…
The Ugly: album name = band name

So, for those of us who never really listened to The Libertines, we only really know of them due to Dohorty’s lifestyle...

This album did not impress me… however, it might have to do with a state of mind while listening to the album… shit happens.

Still, there is too much trying to be something they are not.
Don’t know… maybe I will give them one more spin tomorrow…

Down the middle 3*
