pretty, but kinda boring. there had to have been more exciting senegalese projects for the list

funny how my opinion on an album changes over time but my rating can stay the same. when this came out i didnt care much for its production. fast forward 10 years, now i cant bear her voice. funnily enough the production more or less stood the test of time.

it's background music. you couldve picked a better "world" album 2.5

sprawling with tons of ideas.

a lot of times, lyrics just flow through one ear right out the other for me. man i hope that was the case for this album. maybe this is a generational difference, but this feels like an amazing groove rock album marred by childishly surface level lyricism. cult of personality is still a banger.

cool representation of what was happening at the time--britpop, idm, dream pop, radiohead. but ultimately not that exciting. 2.5
