Rated 10/10

I think it's a near perfect album. There are about 6 all time great songs on the album. I don't think there are any bad songs on it. I was going to go with 4.5/5 but I've talked myself into a 5/5.

I skipped through tracks. I'm familiar with the band and A Design for Life being on every car advert ever.
No business being on this list. I'm repeating myself but Ænima by Tool and Pinkerton by Weezer both came out in 1996. There isn't a single valid argument I could hear to convince me why MSP made the list and they didn't. 2/5.

These albums are the rare gems that make the 1001 process worth it. At the start I wasn't sure but as the album progressed it really grew on me. The vocal sounds so familiar but I can't put my finger on it. Guitar work is incredible, it really grabs you but I just can't explain why. 4/5.

13 tracks in 35mins? It must be Paul McCartney. It's nothing ground breaking but still better than average. 3.5/5. Raising to 4.

"The eight songs extended beyond the length of a conventional album, almost spanning three sides of an LP, so the group decided to create a double album, adding material they'd recorded for previous albums but never issued."

So they put songs that weren't strong enough for previous albums on this to fill a double album. It's too long, Kashmir is the only stand out and it's so good it stands miles above the rest. Found this a slog to get through. 3/5.

These boys an play. Impressive album but wouldn't be my thing. Certainly deserving of a place on the list. 3.5/5. Raising to 4.

Miles ahead of A Northern Soul. One of the great songs of the 90s and a few other greats sprinkled in. 3.5/5. Raising to 4.
