Solid album.

It’s a long one but it goes by pretty fast. Definitely will revisit.
Not bad, classic country that doesn’t overstay its welcome.

Not sure what to think of this one. It kind of sounds like Elliot Smith mixed with the shins. I like the shins alright, not huge on Smith. I thought it was a pretty good album, not sure if I’d listen again but not writing it off.

I don’t love Lady Godiva’s Operation but this album is still a five. VU at their most experimental and its influence is written all over tons of music that came after it. It sounds like nothing else from the time and still sounds innovative today.

Haven’t revisited this one in a minute. It holds up! There’s maybe one or two songs that could have been taken out, 51st anniversary for one, but this is almost a no skips album.
Nothing all that memorable on this one. It was ok, for a so called punk band it was a little overproduced for my taste. It was more new wave sounding than punk, but I guess new wave gets lumped in with punk sometimes so who’s to say.

A unique album. I liked the instrumental songs, the songs with singing were just ok. Except, Kowalski had singing and was still wild.

I didn’t think this was very good.

Pretty good.

I’ve only ever heard the hits and now I know why. This was not that great, it was an ok glam rock album. It’s weird, Coopers look/act does not match the music. This is straight up glam à la New York Dolls. This is so tame, and not that memorable. The songs are pretty boring.

It took me a while to get into the replacements. I’m still not a mega fan but this album is terrific. It’s raw and energetic but also contemplative at times. It’s got range.
Rated 4/10
Started off decent and got progressively worse. I liked the jazzy instrumental songs, but most of the songs with singing were not good. Especially when there was rapping, that was hard to listen to.

The Who Do You Love suite was awesome. Was most of that improvised? It felt improvisational. The second half was solid too, Calvary was cinematic and psychedelic. Although, I have a feeling they meant Cavalry as it lends itself more to the theme of the album title but I’m not sure.

This was great. I’ve heard of Little Simz but never listened to them before this. I would def listen to this again, and may check out more of her music.
Rated 6/10
This is like if A Tribe Called Quest wasn’t as good. It’s not bad, but if rather just listen to them.

When I started listening to this I thought it sounded a lot like Dinosaur Jr. Turns out there’s at least one member of Dinosaur Jr in this band so that tracks. It was a pretty good album, but to me it was just like Dinosaur Jr without J. Mascis, so not as good. Still a solid album with some cool songs. The songs that used dissonance were my favorite.
Rated 6/10
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this. A solid album, scattered but good.
Rated 8/10
Dope. I think the vocals took away from the songs, but otherwise this album kicks ass.
Rated 4/10
I’m not sure this one earned its spot on the list. It was fine, but nothing to write home about.
