This is a weird coincidence or something....this album has the shitty cover of Iron Man on it, and my Fatboy Slim album yesterday had a song on it (The Weekend Starts Here), that samples the intro to Sabbath's song The Wizard .....Both albums I've had since Ozzy's death feature songs that in some way sample or cover his work .....weird

These guys had that one hit, Lovefool, in the 90's....but one good song does not a good album make... These guys were part of that weird alt pop movement of the 90's that included bands like Sixpence None the Richer, and No Doubt (without the shitty ska backing).

When I saw the album cover, I thought I was in for a religious rock album or some shit. Turns out it was some mid Scottish New Wave. I'm not a fan of new wave as a rule, but the fact that this was a tolerable Scottish band that actually showed some talent garners them at least 1 extra star, so 2 stars it is...

The album starts off slow, kinda leaning more to the folk/pop side of things. Then, once Blockheads starts, the album takes a hard swing into pub rock/punk. I thoroughly enjoy the second half of the album more than the first half. The whole album is surprisingly solid though. Given the album title, I thought I was in for another premium selected pile of shit, but this album is great! Ian's strong cockney accent adds to the grit of the album. I also like his comical, nonsensical lyrics.
