Rated 8/10

Very infectious, glossy pop and rock, with little elements of edge that would be more prominent in their coming releases.

Rated 6/10

Ah yes, the album with “Lovefool” on it. I like to hear that song from time to time on the radio.

Otherwise, meh? I think what I don’t appreciate about the Cardigans is that her voice is very sweet-sounding and breathy, and while I like other bands with vocalists like that (Cranes, etc), here the rest of it isn’t edgy enough to compensate for that. And the lyrics unfortunately aren’t all that interesting either. This is a perfectly reasonable pop album, but not really for me.

A good, highly enjoyable album - that i will never listen to again. It's light and breezy, slickly produced, has the occasional jazz chord thrown in the pop mixture to catch the ear - nothing wrong with this at all, I just can't imagine this becoming a regular listen. Oh and it does have Lovefool on it so that's probably why it's here on this list .

I don't like that cover of Iron Man, but I think the album otherwise is quite alright.

Rated 4/10

I’m so tempted to give this one star for that awful Iron Man cover alone. But that travesty aside, this is soothing mediocre pop rock, which I could see growing on me after a few more listens. For now, this only had two standouts, and no, one of them isn’t Lovefool, which I’m frankly sick of at this point.

It was fine … but that voice does get irritating after a while.

Detta var verkligen ett album som växte på mig och blev bättre för varje låt! Nina Perssons röst är ikonisk och representerar 90-talsindie för mig så mycket. Kan se mig själv lyssna på detta om och om igen!

Okay. Soft, treble-laden pop rock made by people who clearly love Black Sabbath. "Lovefool" was the only track I'd heard prior to the generator telling me to give the whole album a try. It's always been one of those inoffensive 90s tunes to me, fine when it's mixed into a playlist. I've never really had any strong opinions.

Well, turns out that even though I agree with them that Black Sabbath is amazing, the soft pop rock wears on me when I'm listening to an entire album of it. I wanted to like it more than I actually did.

I'm glad I listened, but I'm also perfectly content to go back to just hearing "Lovefool" in decade mixes. This isn't my thing.

Rated 8/10

Better than you think it would be based on the song Lovefool. Not that it’s a bad song (I like it), it just sounds like the type of song a mediocre band would accidentally have a hit with and then millions would buy the album and be like wtf is this mediocre crap on the rest of the album. It’s not like that.

Rated 6/10

I mean… it’s harmless? There’s not enough substance to even get mad about it. But there’s nothing much of interest either. Wouldn’t go on my top 1001 list, not sure what about it is significant.

Rated 4/10

Just a really fun album with a nice and consistent tone and style but plenty of variations in terms of song structure and lovely vocals.

Rated 8/10

Now did I expect the band who gave us Lovefool to give us a song that interpolates Sabbath and an entire Iron Man cover on the same album? No I did not, but it was a pleasant surprise. I really liked this album. Her voice is great and the compositions were interesting. Favorites were Been It, Never Recover, Lovefool, and Choke.

Rated 8/10

Grade a pop music. Such a breeze to listen to and catchy as all hell. Great stuff. Lovefool is a classic

Rated 4/10

This was a good listen and I believe it is a necessary inclusion as not many female-fronted bands appear in such a list. It reminded me in some of the arrangements to other artists such as Shiina Ringo and Weyes Blood. While it is not an otherworldy record, it feels like a landmark moment somehow. Extra point for not being from the UK.

Rated 4/10

That filtered fake old timey vocal effect gets pretty annoying fast. I suppose on this album they were the band to make the whole 90s Easy Listening fad really pay off as a group with (mostly) original songs. Personally I find it all a bit too contrived, bland and boring.

Rated 8/10

excellent production love

Rated 6/10

I like the beats and energy and her voice got really old after a while, for me.
