If you like excessive vibrato, and minimalist depressing chamber pop, then this is the album for you!! It's like really really shitty Hozier. Fistful of Love is the first song on the record that shows a pulse, and it's the 7th song out of 10 on the record. The album cover is apparently some Andy Warhol superstar "Candy Darling" on her deathbed. How charming....wtf?!? I don't get the appeal of this album...

Favorite songs: Fistful of Love, For Today I Am A Boy, Hope There's Someone

Least favorite songs: What Can I Do?, Free at Last

Black MetalVenom

Rated 8/10

Interesting album today. These guys were responsible for starting the black metal sub genre in the 80's. It's more thrash/speed metal at the point of this record, but I can imagine at the time how revolutionary this album/sound was. I mean, I'm comparing it to the black metal we see nowadays and this is like super soft compared to that, but in the 80's, a British band singing about hell and Satan with dark "evil" lyrics would have been hard as fuck. Solid album!

Favorite songs: Don't Burn the Witch, Bursting Out, Heaven's on Fire, Leave Me In Hell, Die Hard, Nightmare, Raise the Dead, Black Metal, Teacher's Pet

Never heard of Lupe Fiasco before today. Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Mike Shinoda apparently helped produce the record. You can hear the influence Mike had on the albums sound in a few tracks (sounds like the rap sections of Linkin Park songs).

In the song Real, the background singer sounds exactly like the band Vitas performing the chorus of their song The 7th Element (iykyk).

I didn't need a 12 minute track of Lupe reading the album liner notes. Kinda a dumb concept.

Overall, a pretty good album. Nothing too exciting, but a solid album nonetheless

Favorite songs: The Instrumental, "Kick, Push", He Say She Say, Hurt Me Soul, "Kick, Push II"

Least favorite songs: Outro, Intro (fuck skits)

Least favorite songs: if forced to pick, The Thing That Should Not Be

DummyPortishead

Rated 8/10

I've had another Portishead album on this generator before (Third). This is one of those bands that surprised the hell out of me. Never heard of them before this generator. They are a trip hop band (hip hop crossed with electronica). These guys are like ....doom trip hop? It's got this dark brooding feel to it, but it has a super catchy beat. I really don't mind it at all. Pretty solid!

Favorite songs: Wandering Star, Strangers, Sour Times, Mysterons, Glory Box

Least favorite songs: It Could Be Sweet

Absolute garbage. As someone in the comments said: "this is the music that is playing when a clown comes to murder you". Truly painful to listen to. These pricks couldn't make music to save their life ...

Favorite songs: Stranded in Time

Least favorite songs: The American Metaphysical Circus, Hard Coming Love, Cloud Song, The Garden of Earthly Delights, The American Way of Love, Osamu's Birthday, No Love to Give, Tailor Man, Coming Down...and others.....I lost interest. It's all garbage...

No....fuck this crooning horseshit. Broadway/NY in the 50's must have sucked ass.

Cole Porter's original version of Anything Goes is miles better than Sinatra's version.

Favorite songs: Anything Goes, You Make Me Feel So Young, Too Marvelous for Words

Least favorite songs: Swingin' Down the Lane, Makin' Whoopee

TommyThe Who

Rated 8/10

Solid concept album. Tina Turner's version of The Acid Queen from the movie is so much better than Roger Daltry's. Also, who can't love Elton John in massive Doc Martin's as the Pinball Wizard who Tommy beats!

Favorite songs: Pinball Wizard, Overture, Christmas, Go to the Mirror!

Least favorite songs: Underture

4/5

Pretty solid folk. Reminds me a bit of Bob Dylan with the storytelling, especially in "The Queen and the Soldier". The fiddle breakdown in "Some Journey" is fantastic!

Favorite songs: Marlene on the Wall, The Queen and the Soldier, Some Journey, Small Blue Thing

Least favorite songs: Cracking

Solid, but I have the same complaint as my last Megadeth record. It just doesn't hit for me like other thrash bands.

Favorite songs: Hangar 18, Tornado of Souls, Holy Wars...The Punishment Due, Lucretia, Take No Prisoners

Least favorite songs: Dawn Patrol

No. I really struggled with this one. Songs are way too long. Nothing interesting happens. It is like electronica mixed with indie. Modern, over produced trash. I mean, it's not bad, but I just....don't care.....

Favourite songs: Flutes, Motion Sickness

Least favorite songs: I don't know....it all sounded like the same over produced shit to me...

#1 RecordBig Star

Rated 6/10

Big Star was like 95% of the way to being a solid band. I don't know why, but I just can't maintain focus on their music. It's just lacking something. They were so close, but just needed a little extra. It just feels like they are going through the paces. There is no passion injected into the music they were making...

Favorite songs: Don't Lie To Me, When My Baby's Beside Me, In the Street

Least favorite songs: Try Again

This sounds like dollar store Doors, but with no talent. This is awful. I really struggled to get through this one. Especially Jonathan Richman's moaning. It got a bonus point because the first song on the album, Roadrunner, reminded me of the movie School of Rock. The rest of the album is garbage.

Favorite songs: Roadrunner, Pablo Picasso, I Wanna Sleep In Your Arms

Least favorite songs: Hospital, I'm Straight, Dance With Me

2/5

Is there any need for 5 of their albums to be on this list? I mean, it isn't bad, but fuck, pick the best 2 and call it a day....

Favorite songs: Mr. Spaceman, Wild Mountain Thyme, Captain Soul, 5D (5th Dimension), Eight Miles High, 2-4-2 Fox Trot (The Lear Jet Song)

Least favorite songs: I Come and Stand at Every Door, I See You
