Rated 2/10

Modern R&B like Drake or The Weeknd or Frank Ocean. Overproduced, talentless music about banging.... I don't get it.... Also, like every other album in this genre, it is full of skits for some reason.....fuck I hate skits....

Someone commented "Ctrl-Alt-Del" and I think that is the most fitting review I've ever seen for this shit.

... I hate everything about this....

Favourite songs: Prom

Least favourite songs: Doves in the Wind (gross)

Music Has The Right to Children (... What a dumb name) by Boards of Canada (... Which is actually a fucking Scottish electronica band who uses "vintage synthesizers, and degraded analog production.... Fuck). This is like elevator rave music. Whenever an album summary mentions "found sound" I cringe. That just means they spent time wailing on different materials to see what it sounded like. Like in the song Turquoise Hexagon Sun. Fairly straightforward trip hop beat.... Ok..... Then they overlay it with the sounds of a crowd of people playing fucking pinball it sounds like..... Wtf. This was very ethereal, lo-fi sound that kinda lulled you into a trance. There were songs that worked, and ones that were just awful. Overall feeling: meh.

Favourite songs: Telephasic Workshop, Turquoise Hexagon Sun, Roygbiv, Sixtyten, Rue the Whirl

Least favourite songs: The Color of the Fire (...That's not creepy at all...wtf?!? ), Aquarius (random counting.... And children laughing... Annoying as fuck)

Really solid, like, traditional Indian yoga music. Such a relaxing vibe to it. The Spotify link that the generator used is to an album of the same name by Rahul Sharma (Shivkumar's son apparently). Rahul had released his version of the album in 2012 as a nod to his dad's album from the late 60's. The original version, which is the version referenced in the 1001 book, I found on YouTube, and is astronomically better than Rahul's version, so the original is the one I listened to. The original is also the best selling "world music" record on the international market. Absolutely beautiful album. This one blew me away. It takes ya on a trip, that's for sure!!

My second album of theirs. It's like the early Kinks maybe? Like punk/new wave. Fairly average for the time period. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing to set it apart from the hordes of other bands that sounded exactly the same.

Favourite songs: English Rose, 'A' Bomb in Wardour Street, Mr. Clean, The Place I Love, Billy Hunt

Least favourite songs: Fly

Why the fuck do these knobs have 2 albums on this list? I feel like this is Robert Dimery's personal playlist moreso than an "essential albums" list, because I definately could have went my life without hearing 1, let alone 2 Beta Band albums. The last thing I need in my life is to listen to more shitty British indie. Classless garbage. Bland and depressing. I'm beginning to realize that the lions share of UK music doesn't translate on this side of the pond. Too bad this list is made up of 85% of this trash.

Why do these knobs have 3 albums on this list? It's like rock music for people who don't know what rock music is. Fuckin granola rock for people who want to "listen to something heavier".

Dude.... You can't hit high notes.... Stop squeaking on tape..... You can't even sing ffs. Sounds like he has marbles in his mouth.

Favourite songs: Spiral Staircase, Molly's Chambers, Holy Roller Novocaine, Joe's Head, Happy Alone

Least favourite songs: Trani

Concept albums are either really well done, or are garbage. This is one of the latter unfortunately. The theme of this concept is apparently life and mortality. The whole "concept" was covered in 17 minutes (side A only). It just felt unfinished and rushed. You have to give concept albums time to grow and develop. These morons should have taken a page out of Pink Floyd's book. The Wall had a runtime of 1hr 20mins and is a masterpiece. This is just dumb.

Side B of this album was full of previously released singles as well as unused material from "The Graduate" soundtrack. So basically, they couldn't come up with enough of an idea for an album, so they rushed a concept, then filled the rest in with garbage that wasn't good enough for a previous album. Just a money grab.

I guarantee the only reason this album is on this list is because it is one of those albums that popular opinion (of braindead hipsters) dictates you should love because it is so deep and revolutionary, when in actuality it is just 2 nerds in peacoats sitting in a dusty library singing about nonsense.

Why did someone bring a recorder into a fucking seniors home for 2 minutes during Voices of Old People?

Favourite songs: Mrs. Robinson

Least favourite songs: Voices of Old People, along with the rest of this album.

1/5. One point for the previously released Mrs Robinson. The rest of the album is trash.

I don't necessarily hate Simon & Garfunkel, but I hate this album. Paul Simon was apparently suffering from writers block during the making of this album. Here's an idea: if you don't have enough material for an album, DON'T RELEASE ONE!!

No...

From the album summary....

"Scottish" .... Fuck
"Reggae" ...... What the fuck

The instances that this dude made the news are fucking hilarious. Here are a few examples....

"Finley Quaye found guilty for headbutting terminally ill friend over Game of Thrones"

"Finley Quaye admits criminal damage after he threw metal road sign through glass bus door"

"Finley Quaye has admitted punching a bar manager in the face in an unprovoked drunken attack."

Dude has roots in Ghana, was born in Scotland, and sings with a fake Jamaican accent which adds to the irritation of this album. Fucking bland granola reggae. Terrible.

Favourite songs: Sunday Shining, Your Love Gets Sweeter

Least favourite songs: I Need a Lover, Even After All, Ride On and Turn the People On, The Way of the Explosive, Falling

This is like trip hop mixed with acid house? Not terrible, better than most other electronica albums I've listened to. One song on the album, Build a Fire, heavily featured a steel guitar which was kinda fucked to hear on this kind of album.

Favourite songs: What Time Is Love?

Least favourite songs: No More Tears

The only record CSN made as a trio before picking up Neil Young. I liked them better as a quartet. This was good, but kind of boring. CSN on this album are closer to hipster folk than folk rock, which they embraced with the introduction of Neil Young.

Favourite songs: Teach Your Children, Wooden Ships, Helplessly Hoping, Pre-Road Downs, Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, Marrakesh Express

Least favourite songs: Guinnevere, Lady of the Island

60's Funk/soul. This is the same dude who scored the movie Shaft. I has that soundtrack already on this generator. Interestingly, Isaac was also the voice of Chef in South Park.

This music was solid, but I could have done without the 9 minute spoken word short story at the first of the song By the Time I Get to Phoenix.

Favourite songs: Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic

Least favourite songs: By the Time I Get to Phoenix

Generic modern hip hop. Nothing to really write home about.

Rated 8/10

80's punk/alt rock with folk/rockabilly/Americana influences. It's interesting. Kinda similar in a way to The Damned or Minutemen.

Favourite songs: It's Who You Know, Universal Corner, Back 2 The Base, In This House That I Call Home, Beyond and Back, When Our Love Passed Out On The Couch, The Once Over Twice

Least favourite songs: Adult Books, I'm Coming Over

4/5

60's garage rock. This is basically an album of covers from the rock n roll and R&B genres, with a few originals mixed in. Kinda similar to The Stooges or The Kinks.

Favourite songs: Strychnine, Good Golly Miss Molly, Do You Love Me, Night Time is the Right Time, Walkin' The Dog, Money, Roll Over Beethoven, Boss Hoss, Psycho

Least favourite songs: Dirty Robber

4/5

Typical 90's rave music to blast while high on ecstasy. The album maintains a really solid back beat, and the music makes ya wanna move. Surprisingly solid album. This is the second Chemical Brothers album I've had on this generator, the first being Exit Planet Dust.

I was completely unaware that The Chemical Brothers sang the song "Where Do I Begin". The first two notes of the song and I was transported back to 2006 when I was watching the movie Accepted while attending university. This song plays while the character Bartleby Gaines is trying to figure the whole "college thing" out. Such a fantastic movie, and a nice shot of nostalgia. Now I have to go re-watch Accepted.

Favourite songs: Where Do I Begin, Block Rockin' Beats, Setting Sun, It Doesn't Matter, Elektrobank, Piku, The Private Psychedelic Reel

Least favourite songs: Don't Stop The Rock

THIS. ISN'T. MUSIC.

This is the second record of those morons that I've had (the first being the album First Issue). This band was formed by John Lydon of the Sex Pistols..... He must have wanted to moan a bunch on tape and Sid Vicious wouldn't let him so he decided to torture us with his own band. It is truly just shittily played instruments and moaning..... It is awful. Who the fuck considers this music. Absolute garbage of an album.

Favourite songs: Radio 4, both because it is the last song on the album, and because the singer shuts the fuck up.

Least favourite songs: this entire piece of shit album

Country/folk. Dude was, for a time, a touring partner of Woody Guthrie's, and also collaborated and toured with the likes of Bob Dylan and The Grateful Dead. Dudes sound is somewhere between Guthrie and John Prine. Pretty solid. East Texas Talking Blues sounds exactly like something Corb Lund would put out. I'd say they were definately influenced by Jack Elliott.

Favourite songs: New York Town, East Texas Talking Blues, Cocaine, Salty Dog, San Francisco Baby Blues, The Boll Weevil, Brother Won't You Join In the Line

Least favourite songs: Ol' Riley, Grey Goose, Black Baby

Fantastic jazz/blues from the man who was the voice of King Louis of the Apes in The Jungle Book. This album could be featured on Fallout for sure. Has that kinda feel to it. Keely Smith and Sam Butera do phenomenal supporting work as well.

Favourite songs: "Jump, Jive, An' Wail", "Oh, Marie", (Nothing's Too Good) For My Baby, Be Mine (Little Baby), The Lip, Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody, (I'll Be Glad When You're Dead) You Rascal You, "Five Months, Two Weeks, Two Days", Buona Sera, Banana Split For My Baby, Basin Street Blues/When It's Sleepy Time Down South, Whistle Stop

Least favourite songs: Night Train
