Like a melding of blues, jazz, and soul. Interesting to listen to, as Gil is a poet, but also one of those genres that you really have to be in the right mindset to enjoy fully. Let's just say it didn't catch me on one of those days. I really hate flute music, and it was featured heavily here, along with really strange song structure (as is the norm with jazz), and not great vocals. Overall kinda boring.

Favourite songs: The Bottle, Winter in America, Back Home

Least favourite songs: Song for Bobby Smith

Ute Lemper is a German singer. Her backing band for this whole album was The Divine Comedy, so that should tell you all you need to know about this album. It's weird, poppy music. It should be better, because Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, and Scott Walker all wrote songs for the album, but The Divine Comedy's shitty poppy influences drug this album down hard. This whole album sounds like a Disney movie soundtrack. Really boring. Or like, James Bond intro music. An hour long James Bond intro. Uuugghhh.

Favourite songs: Die Dreigroschenoper: Tango Ballad

Least favourite songs: Scope J., Streets of Berlin, The Part You Throw Away... And others. The whole album kept almost putting me to sleep.

Surprisingly good. Based on the album cover, I didn't expect much, but this reminds me of The Buzzcocks. Kinda like new wave, or early pop punk. It's feel good punk music.

Favourite songs: Whizz Kids, There Goes Norman, More Songs About Chocolate and Girls, Girls That Don't Talk, What's With Terry, Under the Boardwalk, Hard Luck, My Perfect Cousin, Boys Will Be Boys

Least favourite songs: See That Girl

These guys sound like a mix of Big Wreck and Coldplay. Not bad. Interesting if nothing else. Nothing to write home about, but good.

Ya know what's annoying after 20 minutes? Drum n bass. Ya know how long this album is? 2.5 hrs..... Buckle up!

I don't understand why a compilation record is on this list in the first place. Seems like a cop out to me.

The 67 minute song on this record, Logical Progression, reminded me of Father Fintan Stack's jungle music that he blasted constantly on an episode of Father Ted.

... A 67 minute song..... 67 minutes of nothing happening. The beat was established in the first like 30 seconds of the song, then held for over an hr. It's like that 10hr Gandalf Sax video on YouTube. 10hrs of nothing happening, and it's still more interesting than this pile of shit.

Favourite song: Jazz Lick... I guess..... It all sounded the same after 2 minutes.

Least favourite song: Logical Progression (no song needs to be 67 minutes long ffs)

Another of Roxy Music's albums. Their second, and last with Brian Eno. That may explain why their 4th album, Country Life, I actually didn't mind. Their sound wasn't corrupted by that insufferable ass hat.

Favourite songs: Editions of You, Do the Strand

Least favourite songs: Strictly Confidential, In Every Dream Home a Heartache

Ffs...... Why does this tool have like 5 records on this goddamn generator. Oddly enough, the first four songs on this album were quite upbeat, but then he has descended into his depressive moaning again for the rest of the album. God what an irritating twat.

Favourite songs: Now My Heart is Full, Billy Budd, Spring-Heeled Jim

Least favourite songs: "Lifeguard Sleeping, Girl Drowning"

Solid 90's hip hop. Every song feels like 1 minute too long though.

Favourite songs: The Humpty Dance, Packet Man

Least favourite songs: Freaks of the Industry

More shoegaze garbage. Just noise and moaning. Had a hard time getting through this piece of shit. No redeeming qualities, and nothing that I could consider music on it at all.

Favourite songs: Nothing Much to Lose

Least favourite songs: Soft as Snow (But Warm Inside), No More Sorry.... And the rest of this dumpster fire of an album

This is a God tier record! Marks the beginnings of the heavy metal genre of music, and has influenced everything that has come since then!!

Black Sabbath (the song) has a way of scaring the shit out of you. The way they focus on that tri-tone, Ozzy's haunting vocals, and the church bell/rain in the background..... It gives off such a vibe. I love it!! I love the way the tri-tone was seen as bad juju (a way of summoning Satan), so everyone steered clear of it. Sabbath said "What if we just keep playing it" lol. Tony Iommi gave 0 fucks about bad juju!

Gonna be hard to pick a favourite song off of this record. The whole thing is gold!! This is one of those albums that needs to be listened to cover to cover. There are literally no misses on it. Such a strong debut! Even the cover of this one is creepy as fuck.

N.I.B. is such a strong song! Geezer Butler puts in work!! Such an underrated song!

Favourite songs: Black Sabbath, N.I.B., The Wizard, Evil Woman

Least favourite songs: Behind the Wall of Sleep

These guys sound like if Oasis made a shoegaze record. Unlike other shoegaze artists, I liked these guys. They are apparently one of the "Big 3" of the genre. Unlike other shoegaze bands, these guys display musical talent, and seem to enjoy making music. Interesting to hear a harmonica in shoegaze music.
