Day 66

Let Roy Harper be a lesson for every aspiring musician on how to fuck up a potentially 5 star album

Fav track: Since I've Been Loving You

Day 64

I'm an adamant hater of 80s sludge when I can clock it. This is not 80s sludge. This is what happens when you take a vocalist with a smooth voice, equip it with optimism that doesn't fall slight and utilise their sound in a forward-facing way that doesn't drown itself in keyboard wankery. It's a phenomenal listen start to finish. It's Scritti Politti if Scritti Politti was good. So not Scritti Politti.

Fav track: New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84)

Day 62

I wanna find a reason to push this to a 4 but at the end of the day, I found this a solid record. Suppose I'm expecting the wrong thing wanting a progression but being a younger Zoomer with a fried attention span, this challenge is bound to hopefully fix that flaw within me. Could I listen to it again? Yeah, I'm not gonna cross out Bob that quickly

Fav track: Lively Up Yourself

Day 61

Just a slog to get through. It's elevator music stretched to it's thinnest state. Mid.

Fav track: Birdland

EDIT: Respect doesn't mean enjoyability, enjoy your 2/5, Weather Report

Day 60

The funny thing about the reviews page is that the stuff that clicks for me is generic for someone else and vice versa. I had no knowledge of The Jam prior to this roll other than That's Entertainment, a phenomenal song might I add. This had the right amount of wit, social commentary and just general groove to uplift my evening. Now, I need to say something funny before I get ahead of myself. TOOL.

Fav track: That's Entertainment

Day 59

Bono saved my cat's uncle's owner's girlfriend's cousin's life. Still think War was better tho

Fav track: So Cruel

Day 58

Iggy Mix was considerably greater. Unfortunately, upon saying this, Iggy Pop now refuses to leave my house and sees this as a sign of gratitude. "Why don't you get a real job?" I say. He responds by screaming in my ear and proclaiming that he's the godfather of punk which is not true considering Roger Waters exists. I can't take my word back now. Four stars.

Fav track: Gimme Danger

Day 57

Trying to overcome my rapid Francophobia and the good news is I'm not particularly more hateful. I just don't have enough of a good reason to be less hateful.

Fav track: OxygĂšne, Pt. 4

Day 56

Considering I gave With the Beatles a 4, I was extremely hesitant to reward this with a 5. But at the end of the day, Buddy Holly really was that guy. I loved nearly every track. I truly wish we got to see how he would've adapted to the 60s and beyond

Fav track: Tell Me How

Day 55

It's got grit. It's got moxie. It doesn't always have my attention. Might benefit from a relisten but that means staring at the horrendous album cover

Fav track: I'd Like to Know

Day 52

I could quip but these guys had real potential. What a shame they were screwed over so hard

Fav track: The Ballad of El Goodo

Day 50

For the first big milestone, I'm torn. It's Easier and Outer Space seemed to set up a stronger second half but hey, y'know what Grant thought would be funny? To throw in a bunch of slurs the very track after! Fuck off

Fav track: Outer Space

Day 47

I've seen my fair share of shit in my life. I like to be open minded. That said, there are instances where media can offend or go out of it's way to be terrible. This is different because it offers me nothing. Every track feels like the same extension of 80s synth pop but doesn't do much to differentiate itself vocally or instrumentally. I found myself bored to death and even the greatest realisation of the format, Perfect Day, was too milquetoast to be added to my rotation. The worst album ever? Not quite. But I do struggle to understand why the fuck this had to make the list out of everything out there

Fav track: Cant be arsed
