‘Sunday Morning’ and ‘Venus in Furs’ are just classics and would grace any album. The rest of the album is wonderfully psychedelic. My only criticism is that i much prefer Lou’s voice to those featuring Nico, but overall this is an album that is definitely not out of place on this list

Yes it’s a far more polished commercial sound than the albums that preceded it, but that doesn’t stop it being a great album.
‘Sex on fire’ and ‘Use somebody’ are as good arena rock as it gets with infectious choruses and sawing guitars. Caleb’s vocals are the star of this album and no where is that more apparent than the brooding‘Revelry’

Husker Du are an interesting prospect, oft mentioned by artists I really like, but not sure I’ve ever listened to them (or if I’d forgotten Bob Mould was a member). They are even referenced in one of my favourite songs (29x the pain by the Wildhearts), but a lot of this just feels like something’s missing and i cant quite put my finger on what.

I can definitely heat the influence ‘Ice Col Ice’ had on the Wildhearts’ ’Nothing changes but the shoes’ and also somehow sounds like early R.E.M.

The R.E.M comparison is also present in ‘Bed of nails ’ and ‘Tell you why tomorrow’ which unsurprisingly I really enjoyed.

Oh how i love an album that takes over 3 minutes to do anything more than drone.

I really dont understand why this album is on the list. There are far better albums in the genre like Nia Archives or Shygirl.
