i had heard 3/4s of the tracks before. obviously kendrick is a great rapper and the beats are great as well but i was always annoyed by the high pitch voice he uses on some of the songs. money trees and swimming pools in particular use it quite frequently. i understand that thematically its supposed to represent his conscience but it doesn't work for me. additionally almost every song overstayed its welcome by multiple minutes. even with those complaints i still enjoyed it for the most part

what a disappointment. i went into this with high expectations only to be let down. great guitar work from mark knopfler can't save this album of boring b-sides. the only song on the album that i'd consider great is money for nothing which is about two minutes too long.

good album. given the obvious satire in the first track and the fact that it was made 50 years ago, I'll look past the repeated use of slurs.

not what i expected at all. i always confuse joy division and new order so i was expecting a much more upbeat album. the album was fine overall but i have to admit im a little disappointed in the lack of synth even though its my own fault for expecting it.

this may be one of the worst things I’ve ever heard. i genuinely can’t tell if it’s a parody or an earnest attempt at making music. if it’s a parody, then whatever he was mocking was rightfully lost to time, and he succeeded in turning it into songs so absurd they made me laugh out loud. if it’s serious, then this is another Robbie Williams situation—where the Brits somehow think this flavorless, beans-on-toast-esque music will appeal to a wider audience. between the monotone rambling, lifeless beats, and lyrics that sound like they were written on the back of a nandos napkin, i can confidently say that anyone who unironically enjoys this needs their head examined. a grand don’t come for free, but somehow, this garbage did

good background music with an interesting mix of ideas from various genres. i admit that i probably have a bit of nostalgic bias when it comes to this album. i remember my older sister having this album and know ive heard many of the songs before, even if i only consciously remember "honey".

i had heard a few of the songs before and absolutely loathe smooth operator, but i enjoyed this more than expected. it definitely works better as a cohesive piece rather than just a collection of songs.

i went into this with low expectations thanks to the genre listing on wikipedia but came out of it pleasantly surprised by how much i liked it. i wouldve given it a 4 if they made the effort cut a few of the weaker tracks
