Same Nick Cave who did O Children btw. Shite.
Rated 8/10
I didn’t know there was anything out there that approximated “avant-garde rockabilly”... or maybe "avant-garde gothabilly"? Either way, now that I know it, I can never un-know it. It's going to be off-putting for A LOT of people, but it fills a void in the music landscape that I hadn't fully realized was there for me.
I probably can't listen to this all the time, but I know I will listen to it again, and more often than most people would. It's a perfect mid-October record to jumpstart spooky season stuff.
I have pretty indifferent feelings about Nick Cave, but I'm thrilled to 'discover' this band/album and have it in my life now. My opinion of Nick is now marginally higher for having been a part of this.

Oh this is Nick Cave, I think if his name wasn't on this, it wouldn't be included, seems like a bit of a noisy mess.
Rated 4/10
Please, no more Nick Cave, I'm begging you.

Albums like this is what I reserve my 1's for

Shityard.

Not necessarily the worst thing ever
Rated 6/10
Ni idea de qué era esto, pero al mirar veo que es una de las bandas iniciales con Nick Cave, así que sube el interés. Aparte de "Release the bats" y "Dead Joe" es complicado disfrutar este disco de manera general.

Not gunna lie the cover had me worried, the first word being screamed out of my speaker has not helped. God this is awful
Rated 4/10
I think it's easy to slate albums like these for being weird and different to most of what's on this list. I respect the bizarre experimental post punk going on here, and I enjoy being challenged by what I'm listening to sometimes.
That being said this is bad
Rated 8/10
Young, punky Nick Cave. Decent enough, no idea why it's so low on the global rankings. If anything, there wasn't quite enough new and interesting about the combination of punk and Nick Cave.
Rated 6/10
Pretty crazy and jarring. Some great bass.
Rated 8/10
Loud, messy, upsetting, angry and unhingd. Also brilliant
Rated 10/10
Loud. Chaotic. Splendid.
Rated 10/10
No matter how linv abd successful his career is I doubt Nick Cave will ever top Big Jesus Trash Can.
Rated 1/10
Rated 6/10
eh, nick cave again, okay
Rated 2/10
I can appreciate what Nick Cave went on to achieve, but sitting through this album was genuinely one of the most abrasive and excruciating 42 minutes I've ever endured. It sounds exactly like its horrifying cover art, a rusty, demonic collision of screeching guitars, chaotic bass, and unhinged howling that feels like being dragged through the mud. This entire messy experience is exactly what it says on the tin: junk, absolute junk.

This album will be my introduction to Nick Cave. While he has 5 solo albums on the list in addition to this, I have not had any of them. It's also in the bottom 20 albums globally(which adds a layer of intrigue to it). And, listening to it, I have no idea what to make of this. It's completely wild and mentally insane, with pop songwriting and production taking a backseat to the manic energy of Cave's vocals and the band. A lot of it sounds like random noise for the sake of noise, but there are actual musical elements in here. Lyrics are chosen more for shock value than anything else and often sound incoherent. So, yeah, this isn't necessarily a great album. It's not outright bad, but it's certainly difficult to listen to. I don't quite know what the band hoped to achieve when making this(maybe alienating most functionally normal people?). Anyway, I find this album to be more interesting than it is likable. Also, the album cover makes me want to rip out my own eyes every time I look at it for more than a second.
