Cool to hear all the breaks in their natural habitat but probably wouldn't revisit, definitely 1001 albums you need to own if you make music I guess

Interesting record cool how huge it got and she has a unique and catchy style of delivery, some of it was less compelling for me but will need to return sometime

Solid pop stuff kind of Coldplay or The Bends era Radiohead esque, not always into this kind of thing but it doesn't overstay and it's got some good tracks on it

Really not sure what to rate this one for a few reasons:

- I think it's a cool performance by Jacques Brel but it's obviously a very lyrical album and I don't speak french
- It's live and although that's ok it doesn't really feel essential? Amsterdam does appear to be unique to this release, but I looked up Jacques Brel and he appears to have a choice of well-regarded studio albums so this is a bit baffling for his only submission on the list
- It's only 28 minutes long which is a bit of a piss take, it's not exactly a Sex Pistols album or something I think they could have added more to the LP and I wouldn't have been checking my watch

Really bizarre that this took so long to get distributed and was considered such a risk by labels when it sounds like this. And it's great!

It might not be this bad, I even liked the first track, but it becomes so brickwalled and repetitive after a while (plus lots of bizarre moments like ballads, weird grunge imitations, the don't tread on me track) and I really cba

This is a truly one of a kind record, hard to really describe it. It has the feel of folk with the spirit of jazz both in instrumental and vocal performance. The lyricism is so expressive and remarkable and Van Morrison has this almost stream of consciousness delivery, like he's more of a jazz soloist. Truly deserved place on the list.

Couple catchy tracks here but I'm not hugely into this kind of hard rock shredding albums

Rated 8/10

Excellent prog, not my favourite genre normally but I appreciate with Yes that they are very melodic while also staying left field and exploring a number of styles

Honestly thought I'd hate it after the first track but there are a few solid tracks here and it turns into a fairly decent record although I probably wouldn't listen more than once or twice

Had never heard of this guy but wow this is refreshing, fantastic record with honest and poignant songwriting. Can see this growing up to a 5*
