I’m definitely way outside the target demographic, but it’s refreshing to hear modern pop music that doesn’t sound like it was sanded down to be as inoffensive as possible. 360, 365 and talk talk were my favorites.

A few summers ago, I was driving to play tennis with my now wife. We were on a backroad I had driven dozens of times without incident. Good Times by Chic played as I drove along. Out of nowhere, a deer jumps over the guardrail and goes flying off my front bumper as I slam on the brakes. The smell of burnt rubber was in the air as I pulled over to assess the damage. A small dent in the hood of my 2003 Toyota Corolla, purely cosmetic. Far from a Good Time, but one I'll always remember when I think of this album.

The consistent “failing” with this list/book is that it’s blatantly obvious that the authors are British, evidenced by the sheer volume of “just okay” British albums that are included on here. This album is an addition to that long long list.

Guy sounds like a bit like Bob Dylan but has a different style of songwriting. Cool, but not something I see myself revisiting in full.

Michael's first album with Quincy on production. Fantastic, dare I say just as good as Thriller. The title track is a great way to kick off the B-side
