I really hate this. Like, a lot. I’m not sure if it deserves a 1 star or a 2 star rating, but I know I’m mad that I had to listen to it, so fuck this album.

Rated 4/10

It's fairly inoffensive, I suppose. after the album finished, four songs by four different disco artists played and I could not tell a difference. So when it all sounds very much the same, how is this one the one to listen to before you die?

I like some of Bowie's stuff, but I just don't understand why people act like everything he's ever done is transcendent. This project does not need 9 Bowie records at the expense of some other very good records, and besides for Fame (which is a banger), this is an album that could easily be dropped.

I wore this tape OUT in the 90s, but today was when I learned that Run The Jewels was named after a lyric from one of the songs on this album. That makes it 27% cooler.

This is a 3 star album that is getting an extra star because it makes me feel good.

Boy, Brian Eno is all over the place for me. Here come the Warm Jets was a trashcan album, but Music for Airports was a 5 star banger. Another Green World was 4 stars exceptional, and Before and After Science was a 3 star, mostly good but a little dated.

Now we have Life in The Bush Of Ghosts and it is good. Very good. It's WAY better than Before And After Science, but I don't think it resonates as much as Another Green World. So 3.5 stars would be about right, but of course, we don't have half stars.

Because my 3 star rating has started to devolve into "meh" albums, this one gets 4 stars. Which is a bit too high, but not a crime like 3 stars would be.

Holy SHIT this was boring. I thought Alice Cooper was supposed to be some sort of demonic weirdo? The album was fine, but in no way do I understand why the hell this man courted any controversy whatsoever. He's absolutely harmless!

Man, I don't like it. I tried, but I just don't like it. There are a couple songs that are a approaching something approximating catchy, but I just don't...you get the point.

I don't know. It's fine for what it is. Kinda cool to hear a song in the Xhosa language, I guess, but it's really nothing I'll ever listen to again on purpose.

OK, So this is loads better than I thought going into it. But this is one of the exact albums that makes me complain about needing half stars. It’s an easy 3 stars, and it’s actually quite good for what it is, and definitely better than “just OK”. But - *to me* - is it good enough to be 4 stars? I don't know.

I actually started to like it more as it went on, but it’s still *extremely* Tori Amos. I was so conflicted I listened to it again. I think I'm still conflicted, because I'm not sure it belongs with many of the other albums that are in my list of 4 star albums, but I liked it better on the second listen, so in real life it's probably 3.5 stars, but for this project, it's 4 stars.

OK, ignore the last paragraph. This album is pretty outstanding. I couldn't shake it so I listened to it a third time. The longer I spend with it, the more I like it.

I liked it, for the most part. I think it started to drone a bit in the second half. It wasn't so bad that it ruined the album completely, but it was enough that I think a 3 star review is appropriate.

I *want* to like it more than I do. I feel like it was probably pretty subversive back in the day, but it's kind of a tough listen. I'd give it 2.5 if I could.
