Nice job ELP. You make a good show.

Pictures At An Exhibition was just a mere glimpse at what was to come... WB,MF,TTSTNE...LAG is crazy.

First off, this is easily the best version of Jerusalem. Tarkus is great here too, Karn Evil 9 is great, Take A Pebble is better, The Sheriff is better, but what makes the album crazy is the fact that they actually performed Karn Evil 9 and Tarkus IN FULL!!!

They played a 40 classical piece for Pictures At An Exhibition, and that was the whole concert. But with this, they played a 27 minute epic and a 35 minute epic.

Of course, the sound quality is really bad here though, even though this is the best version of most songs, i would never listen to these versions for quality reasons.

In general it's a great live album bogged down by the quality.

NEED TO HEAR RATING: DEFINITELY HEAR

Best song: Tarkus
Worst song: Hoedown
Underrated: Jeremy Bender / The Sheriff

I like it, alot!

Yeah, as you can tell by the title, it's great. But there are some songs i don't go as crazy for.

Up On Cripple Creek doesn't do much for me, it's good, but not perfect and the best song on the album, but it's still good enough.

This version of Don't Think Twice isn't that good like the original. It's good and i probably like it more than Cripple Creek.

The Shape I'm In is so forgettable i have nothing to say.

But it's a good live album, a better one i've heard lately but doesn't come even close to King Crimson's Great Deceiver set.

NEED TO HEAR RATING: DEFINITELY HEAR

Best song: Like A Rolling Stone
Worst song: Blowin' In The Wind
Underrated: It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)

It's not as good as GAIBTY even if it is.

This album is so forgettable. It's insanely boring. The songs are fine though, so why is it bad? It's because this album has a little thing that good albums only have. VIBE.

This album has no vibe. Well it has a vibe, but it's not quite like Good As I Been To You. The reason i rated Good As I Been To You higher is because the songs on this are better, on average.

But on GAIBTY all the songs feel like a story on their eyes, from Canadee-I-O to Blackjack Davey, it goes from one story to another, but the reason that album isn't in the 80's on my score is because his voice sound like someone shoved a lemon down his throat and told him to sing.
So between these two, which is better? It's complicated.

For the ultimate vibe of all vibes, but for a lemon-throated Dylan, go Good As I Been To You

For no vibe, and no lemon-throated Dylan, go World Gone Wrong.

This one is okay, but personally i'd go GAIBTY for pulling you into the stories he's telling and not feeling like your just hearing the story.

NEED TO HEAR RATING: HEAR

Best song: Jack-A-Roe
Worst song: Two Soldiers
Underrated: Stack A Lee

it's really baaaaaaaaaaad

Side A

Wiggle Wiggle is literally anti Dylan. It is so badly written, it is a childrens song, not BD.

Under The Red Sky is fine, but i don't like the structure. Theres two lines and then they get repeated a little faster next time, it's much better than Wiggle Wiggle but still mid.

Unbelievable was so forgettable i didn't even know which song i was listening to.

Born In Time is mid, worse than the title track but i don't really like it still, it's very basic and that is not Bob.

T.V. Talkin' Song is boring stupid basic pop rock with the addition of the 2nd stupidest title on the album.

Side B

10,000 Men is such a boring basic blues rock song that it redefines basic.

2 X 2 i don't want to say the same thing about like every other song, but i have to... IT'S SO BASIC.

God Knows is actually fine, it's not like really good but it's about equal with the title track.

I don't even remember Handy Dandy. So it was bad.

Cat's In The Well. I, uh, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY AT THIS POINT THIS IS UNDER THE RED SKY BY B😡B DY!AN IT IS AWFUL KIDS MUSIC!!!!!!!!!

NEED TO HEAR RATING: NEVER HEAR

Best song: Under The Red Sky
Worst song: Wiggle Wiggle
Underrated: God Knows

Amazing album, None bad.

This album is so good. You know it's good when every song is great.

I think Restless Farewell and Boots Of Spanish Leather are extremely underrated and are definitely in his best songs list. While i love the title track, it's a little overrated because the previously mentioned Boots Of Spanish Leather and With God On Our Side are better imo.

The fact he went from his Debut to Freewheelin' to THIS is just insanity and i don't know how someone could do it that easily. The best and quickest redemption arc in music history.

Great. GREAT album that is just absolutely amazing.

NEED TO HEAR RATING: NEED TO HEAR

Best song: With God On Our Side
Worst song: Restless Farewell
Underrated: One Too Many Mornings

The Bootleg Series... It sure is great!

Imagine a world without any Rolling Thunder recordings or the electric concert... Then A Hard Rain WOULD Fall, he would really be Talkin' WWIII Blues. But you're probably saying "I Don't Believe You!" to that i say, Think Twice.

Ok, so actually i love this album, but i think the other two Bootleg Series live albums are better, specifically Rolling Thunder, but this is still great though.

Best song: To Ramona
Worst song: Who Killed Davey Moore?
Underrated: Silver Dagger

It's good, that's it.

The album should've been titled "Changing of the Guards!
And 8 others..." Because literally besides Where Are You Tonight and Changing Of The Guards, yeah, nothing interesting.

Señor is personally overrated, New Pony and We Better Talk It Over are just so unnecessary. And this album is boring, like i'm already done talking.

NEED TO HEAR RATING: HEAR

Best song: Changing Of The Guards
Worst song: New Pony
Underrated: Where Are You Tonight (Journey Through Dark Heat)

It's decent.

Precious Angel. Oh, it's so much better than everything else on the album. Without it, it'd be just barely above Shot Of Love (the last album in the gospel trilogy).

Precious Angel is an amazing song, and would've fit on Street Legal perfectly and been two amazing songs on that album and not just one (Changing Of The Guards).

Precious Angel i haven't even spoken enough praise for, it's an amazing song and even personally beats Every Grain Of Sand for the best song from the gospel trilogy (This, Saved, Shot Of Love).

Then the rest of the album. Slow Train is pretty good but the only song that makes it above 80 besides one (Precious Angel). Gotta Serve Somebody is quite overrated as it having a whole gospel compilation named after it when "Precious Angel: The Gospel Songs Of Bob Dylan" would've been a much better name.

Man Gave Names To All The Animals is just not good. Bob Dylan wrote Like A Rolling Stone, Desolation Row, and Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands to:
"There wasn't nothing he couldn't pull
Ah, i think i'll call it a bull".
Yeah...

NEED TO HEAR RATING: MID HEAR

Best song: Precious Angel
Worst song: Man Gave Names To All The Animals
Underrated: When He Returns

The most objectively mid album you'll ever hear.

As that one comment on aoty said, the breathing and lip smacking on What'll I Do is hilarious, like he didn't hear at all and it's so funny.

But the album. Yeah, it is. Sure one album in the Dylan pantheon, it 100% is a * album.

The opener is the worst, he sings awfully in that one, Autumn Leave and Why Try To Change Me Now are both good, they are good songs.

After that nothing happens, except for Bob breathing SO hard over a slow jazz solo.

Then the closer is bad.

*mid

NEED TO HEAR RATING: MID HEAR

Best song: Autumn Leaves
Worst song: I'm A Fool To Want You
Underrated: Why Try To Change Me Now

Okay, that was something.

I hate to be mean to Dylan considering he actually tried and this is good for most soundtrack standards (HE PUT KOHD ON A SOUNDTRACK NO ONE CARES ABOUT), but it's still quite boring.

Let's get the what was coming out of the way so i can actually talk about the album. OMG THIS ALBUM IS SO BAD BUT HE PUT KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK ON THIS CRAP ALBUM NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!😲😱😲
Now to the album.

The Billy's (that sounds weird) 1, 4, and 7 are all good, besides 7. 1 and 4 are good but 7's mid. All the "themes" are okay to good. Final Theme is great, but River Theme is bad 👎

Overall, overhated, but still not good.

NEED TO HEAR RATING: HEAR

Best song: Knockin' On Heaven's Door
Worst song: River Theme
Underrated: Final Theme

Desolation Row got ruined.

I like it, there are SO MUCH better BD live albums though. Rolling Thunder Revue and Concert At Philharmonic Hall are much better, and the former does something this album does not; Takes the songs on it and makes them the superior version to the original.

I don't like Dignity, or many of these songs to be honest.
I don't really like this.

Best song: Like A Rolling Stone
Worst song: Dignity
Underrated: With God On Our Side

This is a really good blues album, but i wouldn't probably go back to it.

So yes, there are many good songs on here, Workingman's Blues #2, Thunder On the Mountain, and Ain't Talkin' to name a few. The problem is the replay value is a 5/10.

I love Workingman's Blues #2. But would i ever usually just play it like i do My Back Pages? Hell no.

And some songs are too dragged out like Spirit On the Water was really good. FOR THE FIRST 4 MINUTES.

It's not better than any of the albums in the list before it, besides Pyramid, and even Pyramid has much higher highs than this.

Despite my rant, it's a really good album, just LONG.

NEED TO HEAR RATING: HEAR

Best song: Workingman's Blues #2
Worst song: Spirit On The Water
Underrated: Beyond The Horizon

InfidelsBob Dylan

Rated 8/10

This was actually good. Don't believe the rating average.

This album is just normal pop rock with a sprinkle of reggae of all genres. Near none of this album sounds like folk or normal rock.

Side A

The opener is obviously the best on the album. Jokerman's a classic Dylan song so of course i liked it.

Sweetheart Like You is a plain nice great song.

Neighborhood Bully is just strange, i don't like it.

License To Kill feels much longer than it is, but i still like it, even though it feels like it's 6 minutes.

Side B

Man Of Peace is pretty good, not as good as most of the stuff on the album but i still like it alot.

Union Sundown is so forgettable i have nothing to say.

I And I is fine but once again forgettable.

Don't Fall Apart On Me Tonight is actually great i love it, the music is great, love it.

NEED TO HEAR RATING: HEAR

Best song: Jokerman
Worst song: Neighborhood Bully
Underrated: License To Kill

I don't know what to think.

My AOTY review of Bob's debut said something like "if someone thinks Bob's voice is bad, don't ever show them this". This sentence applies to this ten times better.

It's good, but it's mid, and it's so inconsistent. I love Canadee-I-O and i HATE Froggie Went A Courtin'. It's crazy inconsistent.

The tracklist is literally Arthur McBride (a good song) to You're Gonna Quit Me (mid), WHAT!?!?! Whoever made the songs on this album should've stopped after the 70's. Oh wait, IT'S BOB DYLAN.

Yeah, it's okay, more good than bad, but that's not saying much.

NEED TO HEAR RATING: HEAR

Best song: Canadee-I-O
Worst song: Froggie Went A Courtin'
Underrated: Hard Times

This is the MOST...

Boring album i've ever heard. What was he thinking? Why did he record 52 VOCAL (remember that part you'll need it later) jazz songs across 3 albums?

This album is so unnecessary just like all the other jazz albums. The fact he recorded

Vocals are NOT Bob's strong suit, especially at 74, and the fact he recorded VOCAL (told you) jazz is insanely stupid and destined to be... Well, not good.

Very boring and uneeded album that only die hard Dylan fans & discog completers should hear.

NEED TO HEAR RATING: MID HEAR

Best song: That Old Black Magic
Worst song: Polka Dots And Moonbeams
Underrated: Come Rain Or Come Shine

Not even gonna compete with that top review.

NEED TO HEAR RATING: DON'T HEAR

Best song: Winter Wonderland
Worst song: Here Comes Santa Claus
Underrated: The Christmas Blues

Bob DylanBob Dylan

Rated 6/10

I guess overhated, but still not good.

It's not bad. If you read my rating scale, you'll find i consider it decent. Not bad, not good, right in the middle.

The highlights are Song To Woody (obviously) but (HOTTAKE INCOMING!) i personally think it's overrated, still good and better than all on the album, but there's better early Dylan songs like Masters Of War, My Back Pages, and It Ain't Me, Babe.

House Of The Rising Sun doesn't hold a candle to The Animals' version, but it's still good enough, and You're No Good was a short nice little song.

Overall it's a fine passable album, but looking at literally every album from this to Nashville Skyline, this is quite clearly the worst.

NEED TO HEAR RATING: MID HEAR

Best song: Song To Woody
Worst song: Baby, Let Me Follow You Down
Underrated: You're No Good

BACKSTORY

So back in February, after finishing listening to all of Mark Knopfler's solo albums, I wanted something new i never heard of before. Something that i kinda dabbled in before, And the answer ended up being prog. So i looked up a bunch of famous albums, and went "Huh, the Doors?" And put it on.

Break On Through wasn't as good as i remembered and Soul Kitchen was where i dropped off... But at least i ended up hearing ITCOTCK!

I already knew i was gonna like it so much more on relisten, and obviously i did! I now love this album, Especially The End.

Crystal Ship is SO GOOD and underrated, while Light My Fire is plain great.
I love Break On Through again, finally listened to The End and was SO AMAZING.

Just listen to this album. You'll love it.

NEED TO HEAR RATING: DEFINITELY HEAR

Best song: The End
Worst Song: Soul Kitchen
Underrated: The Crystal Ship

One of the best albums ever, could've been top 10 if not for...

Les Boys. Why? It so did not have to be there. It was basically just an excuse to fatten the run time, practically filler on an otherwise absolutely perfect album.

Yeah, it's absolutely peak. Also... BRIAN GRIFFIN PHOTOGRAPHY LOLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NEED TO HEAR RATING: NEED TO HEAR

Best song: Romeo & Juliet
Worst song: Les Boys
Underrated: Hand In Hand
