Loved this. Everything after the monster opening track does feel a bit flat, but the first 18 minutes carry the album. And what a cover!

Not at all sure what to think about this one. Not bad, but not really all that interesting either.

Whiniest man of the previous century. I cannot stand his vocalstyle, but atleast this is less depressing than "Tonight's the night". I don't understand how this list needs this much Neil Young.

Most of this is honestly great, but it's way, way too long.

Sultans of swing is obviously great. The rest of the album is the same, and holds up really well.

I really, really dislike her style of super busy singing.

This is an album where I have to see the book entry to have any clue why it's included. There is nothing spectacular about this. A 71 on metacritic, and released in 2000 so not exactly the leading edge of EDM. Incredibly long, and not all that interesting.

Really not my thing - and especially not for long stretches of time. It's hard to argue that this is not a wildly impressive album though.

Maybe Van Morrison sounds so generic because he ended up defining what a lot of music sounds like. It is pretty paint by numbers, and you know what you're getting 10 seconds in.

This is an amazing album. I knew Suede for Comming Up, but this is more intense, and honestly more interesting.
Rated 6/10
Something about the lazy rythms and overly sweet lyrics grates my nerves after a while. This is not a bad album, but I would never, ever, chose to play it outside of this list.
Rated 6/10
The album starts incredibly strong, but loses steam pretty quickly. Maybe I just don't get the vision, but a few of the tracks are very artsy.

Such a harsh electronic sound. I was a metal kid, but this won me over back in the 90s. The generator gave me "The fat of the land" last week, and hearing the two albums almost back to back, it's incredible how much happened to their sound over the 3 years.

Great Dire Straits tracks are amazing. Poor Dire Straits tracks are pretty boring. Honestly I think the great to poor ration on this album is skewed in the wrong direction, but it's hard to go below 4.
Rated 8/10
This is a cool album. I'm nowhere near american enough to judge if this is an essential country/bluegrass album, but it's something I would never have heard without this list.

Meh
One of the benchmarks for politically aware rap.
The authority of Chuck D's delivery is unmatched.
Rated 4/10
Way too smooth. This is background music in a shopping mall.
Rated 4/10
Well that was pretty solidly uninteresting. It should likely be a 3, but I've had a shit week when it comes to albums.
Rated 4/10
This was a bit of a slog. I honestly like some of the ideas, but not enough happens to keep me interested.
