Honestly I thought these guys were a one hit wonder. Only ever heard of Bohemian Like You before so was quite surprised this popped up.

It was an alright album, nothing particularly special about it. It almost lost a star at the end, The Creep Out goes on for a bloody eternity.

Top Track - Every Day Should Be A Holiday

So I know some people around my age that say this is one of the greatest albums ever and was a game changer when it was released. I on the other hand completely ignored it at the time and, according to stats.fm, have only listened to this once previously back in 2023.

It is a really good album and I enjoyed it but it doesn’t knock my socks off or anything. Maybe if I had listened to it when I was 13 I’d have more of a connection with it.

Top Track - Someday

Edit : I listened to Room On Fire a few hours after this and much preferred it. That would be a definite 5 star

I was expecting some goofy novelty album and granted it is a novelty but it’s also bloody brilliant. Classic example of an album I never would’ve heard without doing this list and honestly if I had heard of it, not a chance I would’ve listened to it.

Cannot fault a track on this one, it’s just a proper fun listen.

Top Track - The cover of In A Gadda Da Vida was tremendous.

Luckily this was a pretty good album. If we did half stars it would be a 3.5. The title track is brilliant and I really enjoyed Season Of The Witch. It dropped off a bit for me after that though. There wasn’t a bad track but nothing overly stood out.

Top Track - Sunshine Superman

Bloody BRILLIANT album. You know when you hear an album for the first time and you know very early on it’s getting a good score, I knew by about Track 3 that this was probably getting a 5 star lol.

I did think Black Diamond might cost it a star though. I can be a bit fussy when it comes to cover versions of songs I love and in my humble opinion Black Diamond is the best thing KISS ever wrote, with the obvious exception of Music From The Elder.

The Replacements absolutely nailed it with their version though. I ended up listening to it three times in succession as I enjoyed it so much. I will definitely be listening to more from them.

Top Track - Apart from Black Diamond, Androgynous and I Will Dare were great

Faust IVFaust

Rated 6/10

My fourth three star in a row. Hard one to score though, there was nothing on here that I didn’t enjoy but also nothing that made me think holy crap that’s a banger.

Top Track - Giggy Smile

I’ve only ever heard the title track before, which is an absolute BANGER. Unfortunately, while the rest of the album is good, it doesn’t come close to the KOTJ.

I hate the title track. Always have done lol. It goes on for a bloody eternity

Once that unpleasantness was over it was a decent enough album. Vincent and The Grave were by far the stand out tracks for me. Beyond them there was nothing I would rush to revisit though.

Top Track - Vincent

At some point I will get in the habit of checking the original track listing before I start the album lol. Originally I was going to give this four stars based on the two final tracks Coeur de Parisienne — Reprise d'Arletty and Quand vous mourez de nos amours. Turns out they’re bonus tracks so I don’t count them.

As for the rest of the album, I enjoyed it without anything on it being overly memorable. I wasn’t fussed at all on Want One so it was a big improvement on that.

Top Track - The One You Love

I hated this. Truly hated everything about it. Especially From Rags To Riches and Heatwave. Stuck with it to the end though, every track from every album and all that but bloody hell I was glad when this ended.

After Venom yesterday we have more Metal goodness.

Pantera are one of those bands that I very rarely take a notion to listen to but whenever I do I really enjoy them. While this was a fun listen, Walk is always a banger, it will probably be years before I take a notion to listen again.

Top Track - Walk

Black MetalVenom

Rated 8/10

Definitely not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but a massively influential album and band in the Metal scene.

This is a really fun listen. Yes lyrically it’s a bit silly at times but for the most part it works, I could’ve lived without Teacher’s Pet though.

Top Track - Raise The Dead

A very bland album for me. I found the vocals quite annoying after a while. Apart from that nothing really stood out. Didn’t hate it enough for a one star but not one I will remember for long.

Brilliant, brilliant album. Love me some Prodigy. One of my very early music memories is watching Top Of The Pops when Firestarter got to Number 1. The song and accompanying video blew my little mind. Unfortunately the BBC banned it afterwards. Complete and utter Bastards that they are lol.

As for the album itself, for me there’s nothing even close to a dud track. The three singles are definitely the stand outs but the likes of Minefields and Narayan more than hold their own.

It’s been a year or two since I’ve listened to this in full and bloody hell I loved revisiting it.

Top Track - Breathe, my favourite Prodigy track by a mile

Holy crap I hated this. I knew from hearing his singles over the years that I didn’t like Dizzee Rascal so I didn’t expect much from it but bloody hell I enjoyed absolutely nothing about this.

Rated 6/10

Living in Northern Ireland I’ve known so many people down the years who were massive fans of Ash but, while I don’t mind listening to them, they’ve never been a favourite of mine.

Of the albums I’ve heard from them I would definitely say this is their best. There’s a few bangers on it but also a few too many that don’t hit the mark for me to give it more than a 3.

There was nothing on here I would say I loved but it’s a really good, solid album.

I can’t bloody stand Brass in Pocket though. In a previous job we had our own in store radio but it only had 20 something songs that played on a loop. Nothing necessarily wrong with BIP but you try hearing it at least 3-4 times a day, 5 days a week for a decade lol.

Top Track - Space Invader

Probably my favourite from Jane’s Addiction. Some absolute belters on here. The only thing stopping this from getting five stars is I’ve always hated Been Caught Stealing.

Top Track - Then She Did
