I like Bert Jansch. This album for me is three five-star songs and a lot of other stuff that is merely good.

It's like if you lobotomized Mick Jagger and removed the part of his brain that exclusively thinks about David Bowie then plugged the brain segment into a machine and then this is what come out the other end.

I want to like the Byrds, but outside of The Notorious Byrd Brothers, I have a hard time really digging into many of their albums. I wish this album was more garage-y. Like, why would I listen to this when the 13th Floor Elevators exist?

I don't particularly like most of Van Morrison's stuff, but this album is amazing. It picks you up and takes you away, then floats you through gauzy, melodic clouds and gently puts you back down again.

I've heard this album many times, but probably not at all in the past 20 years or so. Yeah it's a little weird, but it's still a great, distinctive album.

I like a mellow indie rock record, but I'm not a fan of Berman's vocals. And lyrically, I prefer a more impressionistic style rather than the bold-face type here.

It's not bad, but it is the kind of album that you only bought because you needed one more slot to fill on your Columbia House record club deal, then you listened to it twice and then it sat in a Trapper Keeper-like binder full of CDs, untouched, until the end of time.

Maybe it’s unfair to pigeonhole an artist like this, but I think she should stick to the torch songs. The more uptempo and poppy songs don’t feel natural. The whole thing is a bit awkward, which makes sense in light of her age.
