I wasn’t expecting to like this. This era of rap generally isn’t my thing. But something about this ended up being very enjoyable. It just flows and is fun. Also there were quite a few songs that I recognized without ever having realized they were by 50 Cent before

This is very listenable experimental psych pop. It washes over you and sucks you in. I’m surprised at how negative a lot of the reviews are for this album here. Like it’s something completely original and new but very enjoyable and easy to listen to. What do you people want?

The attempt at falsetto singing on Ramblin’ Rose sounds like Homer Simpson trying to sing. Other than that this album absolutely rocks and sounds like nothing else from 1969

Oh look, yet another Elvis Costello album. This is the 4th one I’ve gotten so far and I really couldn’t tell you any difference between any of them. It’s not even that bad of an album, but it’s just unnecessary

I really like the Kinks and Face to Face is a great listen. That said, I still prefer some of their later albums where they get a bit more weird with their sound

Soul music is so 50/50 for me. There’s some of the greatest artist of all time that are soul, like Curtis Mayfield, Aretha Franklin, and Marvin Gaye. But then there’s a huge chunk of soul music that is so bland and almost painful to listen to. Anita Baker falls into this latter category. It’s so smooth that it just slips right past you and nothing catches you

Rated 10/10

I feel like Pet Shop Boys are a bit overlooked when it comes to classic queer music. They weren’t necessarily as out or flamboyant as other queer icons but c’mon, they have songs about the aids crisis and It’s a Sin is an absolute bop!

Billie Holiday has such a unique and beautiful voice. It sounds a bit strained on her last album here, but she still makes it sound good. When you’re in the right mood, this is a perfect laid back jazzy/bluesy album

Singer-songwriter stuff can easily go either way for me, and Tracy Chapman is instantly on the good side of it. Her voice is pretty amazing and the songs themselves are all good

This isn’t as bad as other stuff I’ve heard from Aerosmith. Like it’s still not good, but it could be worse
