After a string of 1 star ratings I got over my dislike of Steely Dan and listened all the way through Aja.
I still prefer the WNBA star.

Oh look more shitty EDM, but of the Colombian variety.

Album 1099. “Nominated for the Mercury Prize” remains an undefeated harbinger of pure shit.

Album 1098. “Nominated for the Mercury Prize” remains an undefeated harbinger of pure shit.

The singles are timeless pop. The rest is a forgettable 90s mess.

I’m not huge on Radiohead. This might be the worst on the list for me.

“Nominated for the Mercury Prize” is Wikipedia code for “this record blows chunks!”

I certainly don’t hate Charli xcx. But I also am not blown away by her. Bonus star from the John Cale collab.
Oh look more EDM! Who would have thought?
A fun, yet too long bluegrass record. Like, this is a mood record and I don’t think I’ve had a bluegrass mood that lasts longer than 30 minutes.

Man, these dudes were really trying to out-Oasis Oasis on this one.

I guess after listening to the chorus of Paper Planes I shouldn’t be surprised by M.I.A. going in for Trump.

Moody pop. The production is top notch. But I’d prefer listening to Phoebe Bridgers, Big Thief, boygenius and the like.

This gave Iron and Wine vibes. It was fine, but nothing special.

I LOVE the Stones. But. . . these boomers should have retired years ago.

I didn’t know there was New Nü Metal.

This was missing a cover of the Ramones’ “Beat on the Brat,” which really would have sent this over the edge for me.
Rated 8/10
I knew more of these songs than I realized. I was into the dream pop/showcase vibe. Will be coming back to this one.

I saw St. Vincent circa 2008 and she was amazing! This record is a disappointment.

The second half of this is stronger than the first. I probably liked this more than the other reviewers, but will readily admit I would prefer a boygenius/Phoebe Bridgers/Lucy Davis record instead.
