Bowie is a fairly new discovery to me, tightly tied to this project. Heroes was the only song off this album I knew going in. It's still an incredible banger worthy of 1-2 stars on its own. The rest of it didn't quite do it for me. 3*

Weird af, very experimental, enjoyed it more when it got kind of jazzy, but overall not a great experience. 1*

Elliott Smith is like this darling singer songwriter for this list, but I just don't get it. It's fine, I guess. 2*

This was good at the time, I guess, but JT's reputation has not aged well at all. Shoutout to Britney and Janet.
Overall, the R&B singing got kinda old after a while, but there are some good songs here. 3*
Highlights: cry me a river, rock your body

I like some of her songs, she has a great voice, but the songs in this album just didn't do it for me. Maybe I just like her poppier stuff (heartbreak is one of the all-timers for me) 2*
Highlights: butterfly

Never heard her before. When Reckless hit, I was in! Very enjoyable, listened twice because I was distracted with work the first time. 5*
Violent times reminded me of Garbage.
Highlights: reckless, all born screaming, flea

This is entirely unexpected vs. what I knew of the BeeGees. I love some good vocal harmonies. Marley purt drive and give your best were straight-up country? I guess it's on brand for the album.
The harmonies were impeccable, which bumped this up from meh to 4*.
Highlights: odessa, seven seas symphony

This may be the most current album I have, and it's a soundtrack? I agree with others, no shade to Charli, but how can you possibly know this deserves to be on this list?

ANOTHER Costello album? asdsdfaasdfgertgeiprgh
I'm very jaded at this point (1024 albums in) because I don't think he deserves that many entries on this list. Pick 1-2 and move on. This is mid at best.

New album to me. Good energy and variety, with some bangers sprinkled in. Some of the singing I wasn't fully into, which docks 1*.
Highlights: wave of mutilation, here comes your man (found it surprising to find this is a pixies song?)

Rambling on the good ol' gueeetar.
Felt like listening to a semi-drunk dude dicking around on his guitar by the campfire. Not sure it deserved to be on this list. It gets a point because it's the kind of country I can tolerate a little more -- the kind that screams Americana and feels more "cultural" than the modern junk. 2*

This was ok, easy listening. Not much to say about it. Not bad, nothing really grabbed me. Don't see how it preempts brit-pop. 2*

Another weird garbage album that shouldn't be here. It started ok enough, but by the duchess I was very much like wtf, and I couldn't wait for it to end. 1*
