Copper BlueSugar

Rated 4/10

Sounds like a lot of other 90s alt/grungey bands, but also like a crappier version of all of those.

I liked the blues of the first song, but then they kept singing and I was so underwhelmed and just downright annoyed with the 60s. 2*

I'm aware of the stooges being punk legends, but the 60s-ness of this album made it more enjoyable than most punk albums for me. Still a weird album though, lost me as it went along,

16 minutes? Excellent, extra points for brevity. It's still punk and not really my thing, but loved the energy. 3*

Today I'm grateful for this project putting me onto Johnny Cash. BOTW was rougher than the S&G version, but there was so much pain. In my life is one of my fave Beatles song, and again, his delivery is lovely.

Hot RatsFrank Zappa

Rated 6/10

I don't know Zappa's music. This had alright instrumentals but idk if it's as exciting as it probably was when it came out. Back half got super meander-y 3*

This is not the first time I get an artist's record right after their passing. RIP Dolly. I really don't like country, but I'm biased for Dolly. All have lovely voices though, and I do enjoy country that is less about beer and trucks. 4*

Maybe this is here just for being Jack White's first solo. Lots of influences, but I don't see myself revisiting this. 3*

At first I thought people were just hating on non-anglo music again, but this is just trope-y electronic music trying to emulate Brazilian music. Pretty mid and background-y, 2*

3 albums from this "not actually emo" band? How many do we need? This is the same shit as all the other ones. This time I'm giving it 1* out of spite. Stopped after 4 songs, waste of time.
