I'm old enough to remember how original, quirky, and catchy this lady's songs were!

And time hasn't taken a bite out of them at all - they're absolute classics <3

It's not bad. But listening to the whole album in one sitting is a little depressing. Plus, it's not raining or cloudy, so it's not a good day to listen to this :-(

Hence the 3 stars. If this had happened on another day, it would easily have been a 4

A very pleasant surprise. Yet another band (I’ve discovered so many through this project) that I’d heard of before, but whose albums I’d never actually listened to. Now I’ve had the chance, and they didn’t disappoint

I really enjoyed it - 5 stars

This blew me away from the very first track. It’s this kind of hip-hop, rap, or whatever you want to call it, that grabs me right from the first listen. Music with a message you just can’t ignore.

After listening to it, I went to read some reviews - I have to agree with the 5-star ratings.

So, I’m giving it a 5 ;-)

I know, I know, her voice is divine, their songs are absolute classics... But this was never my music of choice, it's to lame and boring and just makes me wanna sleep and I don't know, maybe I am just an horrible person but who cares?

Listen to this before I die? Nope, I'll pass ;-)

Am I turning into a country music fan? I think this is the second album of hers that I think is fantastic :-(

Geez, what's wrong with me?

I just love this version of "Working Class Hero"; pluas, it has "Broken English", "Why D'Ya Do It"... I mean, yeah, I'll definitely feel better for listening to this before I die

5/5

This could be playing in any store in a shopping mall... it would have exactly the same effect on me: meh

An album to listen to before I die?!?!?!? Naaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Thanks to the person who call my attention to 'Nobody's Fault', it really stands out. 3 more themes I already knew and that's it

I'm not giving a 5 mainly because I was never a big fan of theirs! But this is a solid 4/10

Okay, this might turn out to be a long review - I’m not sure.
First of all, a very pleasant surprise - it struck me as yet another one of those bands and albums way ahead of their time, music from the year my wife was born (yes, it’s true, how time flies!) but that sounds as if it came out today :-o

Second - I realized, once again, much to my regret, that there’s nothing new under the sun (as Rádio Macau, a Portuguese band I invite you to check out, sings so well): this album has Gorillaz, Happy Mondays, Radiohead - in short, I heard so many things that made me ask, “Wait, isn’t this…?!?!? WTF?!?!?"

So, once again, way ahead of its time. The rating can only be, logically, a resounding 10/10

Bring on the next one ;-)

It’s this kind of “repetition” that I love to hear in a song; those rhythms and sequences are deeply hypnotic; I can’t stop banging my head - it’s totally addictive :-)

A killer beat, man, an absolute banger :-D

So boring and repetitiiiiiiiiiive boriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing

But yes, I understand she has a good voice, but man, this was so boring, can't remember a thing and... I could easily die without this experience!

2/5 because of the voice, and that's it

E podem tocar Miles From Nowhere no meu funeral ;-)

It was bound to happen someday, and here it is: my longest album review yet for this project :-)

What a delightful surprise it was to listen to this album! And how amazed I am that I’d never heard it before. I first heard it at work, as I’ve done so many times; I listened to it again at home while watching the Champions League games (on mute, obviously, since the commentary doesn’t matter at all!).

And on that second listen, I couldn’t resist finding out more about this band and this album—and it all clicked! So, so ahead of its time that it went completely unnoticed. If no one had told me I was listening to a 1980 album, I’d say this was by a new band, as current as can be. They’ve influenced so many great people that it’s nothing short of incredible how discreet their presence is—and always has been.

Impressive.

Thank you so much, once again, to this project. Amid so much that can spark doubts and controversy, I’m truly grateful for the good things I’ve found here.

10/10, without a doubt

I remember being in college and having some friends who listened to a lot of music—their tastes were the most eclectic I’d ever seen! Thanks to many of them, that’s how I became a fan of Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Violent Femmes, and so many others. I was introduced to this band through them as well… those were the days—I really miss all of that!

I have nothing against this type of music; I simply agree with many others—why this is on the list is a mystery to me!

Background music, by definition, is the type of music that stays, well, in the background! There's no need to bring it to the forefront :-D
