You might say it’s a gimmick, but it’s a damn fun gimmick. Where else am I going to find a bongo version of In A Gadda Da Vida? This is what I like from the generator because I never would have found this on my own. Favorite songs were Apache, Bongolia, Last Bongo In Belgium, and In A Gadda Da Vida.

Brian Eno is just that guy. Some other review said the vocals remind them of John Grant and yeah I see it. Great soundscapes and atmosphere with some vocal tracks mixed in. Phil Collins is here too? Fantastic album cover as well. Favorites were St Elmo’s Fire, The Big Ship, I’ll Come Running, and Golden Hours.

Classic country and folk albums are great because they don’t waste my time. Half an hour of music that’s in and out. No triple album nonsense. This was pretty good. Nothing mindblowing but I can see how it led up to what Dylan would do in the 60’s. I liked the song with Woody. Favorite songs were San Francisco Bay Blues, New York Town, and Cocaine.

Another one that’s I’ve owned on vinyl for a while that I’m so glad to see pop up. Absolutely adore this record. The song selection is a good mix of covers and originals. He just has a fantastic voice and energy.

I mean yeah she’s crazy, but name one genius that ain’t crazy. These songs are fun. She samples The Clash and interpolates the Pixies! Favorite songs were Jimmy, 20 Dollar, Paper Planes, and Come Around.

The stereotypical example for “ahead of its time”. I’ve been a little generous with scores recently but this one is deserving. These songs are all great. The vocals work with the style even if they aren’t “good”.

Not quite as good as My War, but this is still a damn good hardcore punk album. Just anger, spite, and energy in every song.

Same as it ever was. Brian Eno might be the goat. Crazy sounds and rhythms and soundscapes, but it all works together so well.

Yes, this is similar to The Smiths, but that does not mean it can’t also be good. The arrangements here are good and I like the use of background vocals during some songs. The violin in Was There Anything I Could Do? was a nice touch. Favorite songs were Quiet Heart, Streets Of Your Town, and Was There Anything I Could Do?

My favorite moments in this album were when the bass decides to just get absolutely FUNKY out of nowhere. I need to learn to dance. Just an absolute blast and something I never expected I would love listening to.

While I didn’t like this as much as AB/TLoO this was still a damn fine album. Super cohesive from front to back with lyrics that are intriguing yet filthy. Favorite songs were Papa Won’t Leave You, Henry, Straight To You, When I First Came To Town, and John Finn’s Wife.

Good but not great. It’s like if the Strokes were from Tennessee. This is before they sold out so I respect it for that, but he sounds like he has marbles in his mouth half the time. Also the instrumental for Happy Alone just sounds like American Girl. Favorites were Red Morning Light, Joe’s Head, California Waiting, and Talihina Sky.

Something about this band that I appreciate is they understand the fundamental truth that Kim Deal is, in fact, cool as hell. This was a really good album that I went into without many expectations. The droney ambient bits are pretty cool. Favorite songs were Minnesoter, Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth, Good Morning, and Cool As Kim Deal.

This one is a whole lot of fun and not really much more than that, but do you really need more than that? Good use of rockabilly within the realm of punk rock. Favorite songs were Rock On The Moon, I Was A Teenage Werewolf, The Mad Daddy, Tear It Up, and Fever.

Madonna walked so Playboi Carti could run. I’m conflicted on this one. On one hand I don’t like most of these songs, but a remaining few I really do like. So as a whole it’s not great. Favorites were I Deserve It, Don’t Tell Me, and What It Feels Like For A Girl.

Ah, the 2000’s indie rock staple. Of course this is a really good album, but I think with fresher ears than the last time I heard it I think I can say I like The Suburbs better. The first half of this is so good, but I think after Wake Up the rest don’t stick with me as much. Sucks that Arcade Fire fell off so far after the first three albums. Favorites are Neighborhood #1, #2, #3, and Wake Up.

In comparing this to the Pet Shop Boys album from the other day this is a night and day difference. Of course I knew Personal Jesus and Enjoy The Silence, but the other songs here were great too. Like music played in a cave it sounds echoey and huge yet hollow and dark at the same time. Favorite songs were Personal Jesus, Halo, and Enjoy The Silence.

A heavier Red Hot Chili Peppers. I can see how this inspired many of the nu metal acts of the late 90s. The vocals are really great and the bass is chunky. Also always love a good War Pigs cover. Favorite songs were From out Of Nowhere, Epic, Falling To Pieces, Surprised! You’re Dead!, and The Real Thing.

It being not as bad as Behaviour is the best compliment I can give this one. The instrumentals are all so dated, but not even the good kind of 80’s cheese that showed up in the revivals from the late 2010s-early 2020’s. The vocals don’t do enough to elevate the songs and the melodies aren’t catchy enough to be earworms. This is for someone, but not me.
