Not really what I expected from a Stevie wonder album and I can’t say I really enjoyed it. It wasn’t bad, it didn’t click with me. 2/5
Rated 6/10
I mean it's Stevie Wonder. It's not gonna be bad. Probably not Stevie's best but even at that it's pretty solid.
Rated 8/10
In amongst the (deserved) adoration for Innervisions and Songs In The Key Of Life, this album sometimes seems a bit overlooked. This one is a bit more melancholic, more subdued in character than the other two albums, but in regards to songwriting is not much less than the other two.
This is Stevie Wonder at his (1970's) prime
Rated 8/10
Ah, Stevie Wonder. I was quite a fan of his as a kid, so much so, I even named my hermit crab after him. I may have fallen out of his music as my taste changed but after listening to Fulfillingness' First Finale, It was very good. Everything, from Stevie's singing to the music which had some electronic elements that i was not expecting was handled very well. I guess i should never underestimate the artists i used to listen to.
Best Song: You Haven't Done Nothin'
Worst Song: Smile Please
Rated 8/10
I loved the bits where it sounded like "Supersitious" without being as overplayed as "Superstitious." I even liked the soppier love songs.
Rated 8/10
No hits on here, but every song is solid.
Rated 8/10
Don’t recognize these by title. Smile please sounds so clean, it's wonderful. The harmonies, the instrumentals, excellent. Stevie's voice is wonderful.
Enjoyed: Boogie on reggae woman (instant head bopper), you haven't done nothin (the brass!)
4*
I think I did myself a disservice by listening to this in a loud coffee shop...
Rated 8/10
Boogie On Reggae Woman is great. Awesome vibe, lovely fat synth sounds. You Haven't Done Nothin' is another high point, with a strong horn riff. Overall a good album, but not at the peaks of Innervisions
Rated 4/10
Mostly super boring.
Rated 6/10
Compared to the albums around this one in Wonder's discography, quite bland and forgettable. Not awful by any means and a pleasant listen but nothing particularly memorable. 3*
Rated 8/10
Yeah man, love a bit of Stevie Wonder. Never heard this album before, but some great tracks on here. Really nice funky soulful grooves.
Rated 10/10
Fantastic, perhaps perfect. Stevie is such a treasure, I love pretty much all of his work, and this is no exception.
Absolutely wonderful
Rated 6/10
Se deja escuchar. Canta bien, toca el piano y los teclados como nadie, pero no creo que sea su mejor disco ni el más representativo de él.
Rated 4/10
Yet again basically the same as any other Stevie Wonder album we have listened to. Nothing spectacular. 2/5
Rated 6/10
I had kind of a shower thought while listening to this album, specifically during the second track in which Stevie ponders why people think of him as a lesser man because he’s black. This made me think of a lot of other Stevie songs that deal with discrimination and race relations. Here’s a blind man who deals with issues of people judging people based on skin color. Color. Something he’s never seen. Being blind, Stevie simply cannot judge people on what they look like, including skin color. But here he is singing about being black. That’s just so fucked up...that prejudice is so strong a blind man knows what it means to be black.
Rated 8/10
First time listening to this album, I guess a lot of people will overlook this album and just listen to innervisions or songs in the key of life. I don’t think this is quite the masterpiece of those two albums but still worth your time
Rated 8/10
Ah aurinkoisen perjantain piristys. Ei paljon pahaa sanottavaa tästä, funk soimaan!
Rated 6/10
I've been digging the Stevie Wonder albums on the 1001. This one isn't my favourite, but still enjoyed it.
Rated 10/10
I love Stevie Wonder and I feel this album is underrated in his catalog. Goes down easy all while making some genuinely heartfelt and poignant statements. No small feat. I used to put "They won't go when I go" on mixtapes and we'd get high and listen to it in silence and it would give us chills. Stevie is the real deal.
