People listen to this plastic schlock unironically?

To an extent, it's understandable that kids who haven't grown up around the music of the 70s and 80s to flock towards this, alongside people who mindlessly go wherever the wind takes them, but considering how this is the internet: why don't you all use it to find music that's original, tingling and stimulating to the brain, instead of music like this that recycles motifs and ideas from the 80s and the 00s?

Other than being a rip-off, I find this album to be a nuisance to listen to. A baffling experience I had to turn off mid-listen to preserve my hearing.

I do not understand Chappell Roan at all. It's completely uninteresting yet she's somehow popular?

Rated 10/10

Easy 5, one of the albums that made the summer of 2023 the hugest modern lesbian event in a generation. Though if I had to level a criticism, Guilty Pleasure is not the greatest closer.

Rated 6/10

Hot to Go is an absolute banger. The rest of the album has some decent spots but I felt it was like 3-4 songs to long. 2.5/5

Rated 8/10

Horny, elaborate and wild pop.

Rated 10/10

SO freaking good. One of the best pop albums of the past decade. It's catchy but also deep. Pink Pony Club has been on repeat in my house since its release.

Favorite songs: Pink Pony Club, Red Wine Supernova, Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl, HOT TO GO!, Picture You

Least favorite songs: Coffee, Guilty Pleasure

NOT first listen

One of my favourite pop albums in years. Do I think it's perfect? Well, no- there are a couple tracks I don't think are AS engaging, like "California" and "After Midnight". But when the highs are this high, I gotta give Roan props, considering I had only heard her name for the first time a year ago. "Pink Pony Club" is one of those songs I distinctly remember where I heard it the first time. Pretty sure it was August 16 2024, on the road to the beach. But god forbid I remember my cousin's names

HL: "Red Wine Supernova", "Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl", "Hot to Go!", "My Kink Is Karma", "Kaleidoscope", "Pink Pony Club", "Guilty Pleasure"

WAY more personality than brat.

Feminomenon is one of the most annoying songs I've heard in my life (writing "get it hot like papa john" into the CHORUS?! what is WRONG with you), but I actually liked the rest of it! Roan's one of the more interesting acts in pop music right now, and the original list should have more of this kind of thing on it.

Rated 6/10

An album absolutely stuffed full of its influences, with "the Taylor Swift song" and "the Lana del Rey song" particularly obvious. None of this is a bad thing, just a bit odd to hear odes to individualism in the style of someone else.
I am definitely not the target audience for this, so she'll not care in the slightest what I think anyway!

Rated 8/10

Great example of modern pop that’s actually good.
