It's not an awful record, it was better than Live at Leeds. The recording is rather good and the instruments sound great, he sounds good. It's too long tho for me to fully vibe throughout tho

He sounds a lot better here than he did when I saw him live last year. The live setting brings extra energy and room for improvisation that isn't really there on the studio albums. It's a bit of a long seat through and not every song really grabs my attention, but it's a beautiful piece overall. Probably not a necessary inclusion but definitely not a bad one.

A bit bloated, there was some stuff that could’ve been cut. That said, it is a fantastic album. I thought the two big hits, Domino and Gloria, were kind of weak live. I thought those would be the best ones, but they were both just okay. The band was terrific and I loved the horns.

I feel disrespected. By Van Morrison for thinking he had a double-live album of worthwhile material and anyone who thought this deserved to be included as one of the "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die."

Long but alright.

This is the last Van Morrison album I’m listening to for this project. It’s a double album that includes a live recording. I find that combination a bit tricky. Surprisingly, this was the album I liked best. It was nice to listen to, but it didn’t captivate me enough that I feel compelled to listen to it again. 3/5

This was fine, there wasn’t anything bad on here but dear god was it a slog to get through
I already knew bring it on home and I just want to make love to you but wow was it annoying how he kept ruining the hook for the chorus

The Good: We must be on a roll!!!
The Bad: What if we really want to stop?
The Ugly: The state we are in, after slamming into another car, cause we really wanted to stop…
There are things to be said that one person’s favorite album can be another person's least or another person’t so-so selection… at the end of the day, music is subjective as hell.
However, when it comes to live albums, there is little subjectiveness involved… it is fact; you either hate it or love it.
In the case of this trainwreck of an album… I have to just bow my head and say thanks that I won’t have to listen to it again…
I am certain that there are Van M fans out there who view this album as the best of the best… in my case, it’s too late to stop now…. 2* thanks to Into The Mystic

He doesn't sound like the miserable fucker everyone says he is?
He sounds quite upbeat actually.
The wind section adds nothing, but overall this is a great live album.

I didn't listen to this but I've heard enough Van Morrison in my life to know this isn't for me
Rated 4/10
I generally like Van Morrison’s music, but dislike extended live versions of songs. Jam bands drive me nuts. So this album really tasted my patience.
Rated 4/10
Never been a massive Van Morrison fan and nothing here changed that. Not terrible at all but just not for me

Legend!

This was pretty fun. I think most of the better songs were covers, but it sounded pretty damn good. Soolid 3. The length is not really justified

Van the man!
Rated 8/10
Thought this was pretty good, particularly for a live album, it’s extremely well produced. I waffle a bit on Morrison but I enjoyed this for the most part. Good to have on in the background and has a positive energy.
Rated 4/10
Enjoyable enough collection, but someone with only a vague interest in Van Morrison this is too long for me.
Listen to the Lion in particular tried my patience with it’s duration pushing nearly 9 minutes. See also caravan.
Gloria is by far and away the highlight of this album. It offers a good blues ladden tune which enables Van’s vocals to shine. Unfortunately this is not enough to lift this above a fairly dull and long live album

It's soooooooooooo looooooooooooong.
I paid virtually no attention to this but it passed the time while working. After what felt like half a lifetime, I checked to see how much was left and was relieved to know there were only two songs left so I could finally listen to a different artist.
His voice is nice. I like the brass. Van Morrison is another rank bastard (there's been a few on the list recently). The album was fine but far too long.

I hate live albums, double albums and this genre. I ain’t got a good feeling about this one. Yeah halfway in and I'm not enjoying myself at all. It's just not my style and it's SO DAMN long. I'm not sure I can make it through the second part honestly. Not bad so to say, but it's just so boring to me. Let's say it deserves its place on here though with all that "one of the best live albums" stuff and whatnot.
Rated 6/10
Another live album? Ughhh
This is fine dad rock, don't know what else to say about it. It has brass, that's kinda cool.
