It's a shame I never listened to The Lemonheads as a teen. Kind of grungey, but with an acoustic edge that softens it and makes it feel more intimate and personable. The "Mrs Robinson" cover is good but incongruous with the rest of the album.
Rated 8/10
Pretty cool indie rock that I liked quite a bit.

This was a fun one. Not too original but still what I like so I'm gonna give it a 4
Rated 8/10
Danceable and high-energy 90's alt-rock mixed with melodic acoustic tunes. Tight and well-produced. Bonus - nostalgic Simon & Garfunkel cover. Listening to the 30th anniversary release with a dozen acoustic demos - all first class. Enjoyable album. Added to favorites.
Rated 6/10
Soild 90’s alt rock album that doesn’t outstay its welcome, pretty inoffensive which I think makes it easier to recommend to a wider audience hence should be listened to before you die.
But not interesting enough for my personal taste.
Rated 6/10
I’m vaguely aware of this band from the 90s. It’s easy to see why they never broke through in any significant way. Mediocre songs from start to finish; although I did enjoy the little flares of alt-country.
Rated 8/10
I liked a lot of the songs on this album but I wasn't totally sure about Evan Dando's voice. It sounds a bit as if a rock band brought in a singer who was more attuned to solo acoustic instrumentation than rock/punk. It's an interesting dynamic, but I'm not sure it worked perfect for me. Again, there were a lot of songs I liked and I should probably revisit the entire album. I enjoyed reading about the band's experiences with all these other larger acts that aren't that well-known. I also thought it was awesome that Dando helped write "The Last High" with The Dandy Warhols! Such a great song.
Rated 6/10
It's A Shame About Ray? More like It's a Shame this album couldn't be more interesting. All jokes aside, its an okay album, just rather generic and safe. There were not many moments that i could go out and say "Yeah, this is something i can remember" and none of those moments really were the songs themselves, just specific moments in them like cool riffs at the beginning of Alison's Starting To Happen, or amusing vocals like at the beginning of Bit Part. I will admit, Frank Mills is a pretty interesting song with some unique lyrics, too bad its so short though. This album is fine, just nothing I would go out of my way to really listen to again.
Best Song: Frank Mills
Worst Song: Rockin' Stroll

Title track and Mrs. Robinson cover = great. Everything else = mid
Rated 8/10
Now this is some fun stuff right here. Too bad about Ray, though. Friggin Ray.
Rated 8/10
Low key one of the most influential albums of the 90’s and contains one of the best covers ever. Lovely
Rated 4/10
It's fine for its time, short enough to not get bored, but the nostalgia didn't hold for me. It probably only made the list due to the Mrs. Robinson cover, which was only appended onto the re-release edition.
Rated 8/10
A solid 90’s alternative record. Another one I think I would have really enjoyed in high school. It felt nostalgic even though I have never heard of the band before.
Rated 6/10
This record is again a pretty straightforward picture of early 90s pre-grunge (or maybe grunge tangential) alt rock. There's aspects of classic punk, grunge, pop. It's not exactly groundbreaking. I remember hearing Mrs. Robinson all the time when I was little and I think that's probably the best song on this album.
In the end this album fits in with the rest of the bands from this time that were doing the same thing - Spin Doctors, Gin Blossoms, Better Than Ezra, The Breeders, etc. It's sort of a time capsule of when music was transitioning from the punk and glam metal of the 80s to something heavier and more depressing but there existed a couple years with light, dare I say inconsequential, sort of sparkly sounding alt rock before grunge really took hold.
Rated 6/10
The Lemonheads sound like a lot of other alt rock/power pop groups from the 90's such as the Gin Blossoms or Spin Doctors. Hannah & Gabi sounds like country/alt rock similar to Hootie and the Blowfish. Their version of Mrs. Robinson is pretty good, and became hugely popular after its use in American Pie 2 and Wolf of Wall Street.
This music isn't necessarily bad, there was just so much of it at the time, and I find it hard to differentiate one band from another within the genre. This is a perfectly average album. Nothing really jumps off of the record at you, but it isn't something I was rushing to turn off either.
Favourite songs: It's a Shame About Ray, Mrs. Robinson, Hannah & Gabi, Rockin' Stroll, Allison's Starting to Happen
Least favourite songs: Frank Mills, Rudderless

I have known this album for a long time, and many friends have pushed me to give this album a listen time and time again. I've actually listened to this from the CD of this album I own.
And still.
It has never done it for me. It never hit a mark. Never left an impression. It's good, and Dando is clearly talented, but even now, after all these years, this album just passes me by.

Jaa-a. ihan jees mut en taas ymmärrä että miks on listalla -- onks tää tosiaan niin ihmeellistä? 2/5

This is a lot of energy and noise that doesnt seem to get anywhere. Its not that it doesn't sound fine, it just leaves me flat.

I do not care for this. I understand the appeal of it. I just don't find it all that engaging, novel, or profound. Really not sure why it's here, beyond the Mrs. Robinson single, which wasn't even part of the album originally.
