What I like most about 𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘉𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘊𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘴 is how much it does with so little. With just guitar and drums, The White Stripes create an album that feels raw, energetic, and surprisingly varied. There’s nothing fancy about it, but that’s exactly the point. The songs live or die on their riffs, melodies, and attitude, and most of them work.
The album also has a looseness that makes it feel alive. Nothing sounds overthought or polished to perfection. Instead, it captures a band that seems completely confident in its simplicity and knows exactly how to make it work.
The only thing missing is the truly massive song that would arrive on the next album. Even so, 𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘉𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘊𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘴 already sounds like a band on the verge of becoming something much bigger.

This album has quite a few strong "4" songs, but even more 3s. I do appreciate the simplicity of the drumming, very unique. But overall, not earth shattering by today's standards. 3.3/5 -> 3/5

Solid, solid stuff! I cannot articulate what exactly this particular album does better than the rest of their discog, because in my head they all kind of sound the same. The design uniformity across their cover arts doesn't help in that respect!! (though I respect their commitment to it)
I came back to it a couple of times and fully appreciated it as a whole package. That's more than I can say for Elephant and Get Behind Me, Satan. It's a four!
Standouts: I'm Finding It Harder To Be A Gentleman • Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground • Expecting • Offend In Every Way • I Think I Smell A Rat • Now Mary

White Blood Cells is the White Stripes albums I am most familiar with and probably my favourite of the three that we’ve had from the generator.
Rated 6/10
surprisingly random. lots of songs but they go by so quickly. doesn't seem to have a theme and feels more like a compliation. its fine.
Rated 10/10
This is even more of a banger than I remembered.

yeah I'm a basic White Stripes loving elder Millennial deep down inside, I'm sorry

Not the best WS album, but the creativity and variety is undeniable. Also, very unique for the time.

5/5. The best White Stripes album and one of the most untouchable rock records of the 2000’s in my opinion. A lot of the greatness of this album really lies in its simplicity. nothing here is complicated or flashy but it’s performed in a super emotive and hard-hitting way which is perfect for this style of bluesy garage rock. That’s why I’ve always loved Meg Whites drumming as well. Sure she isn’t some technical wizard like Neil Peart, but she is perfect for this type of music and her drumming adds so much texture to Jack Whites guitar playing/vocals. And as for the songs here, there really isn’t a second of filler, every song is fantastic.

Fell in love with a girl clears

Very good album. Several great songs. It's at least 4 stars. And, with a couple more listens, this may end up reaching 5.
Rated 8/10
Overall a strong album with some nice tracks on it and no particularly weak tracks but also nothing that stand out either. I did particularly enjoy Offend in every way and I think I smell a rat. I might have to give this one another go in a bit

His vocals sometimes border on being too Robert Plant, the songwriting often leans a little bit too much on Paul McCartney worship- (I audibly said "c'mon now" at how McCartney-ish "We're Going to Be Friends" is). But I cannot deny some really great tracks appear here: "Fell in Love With a Girl," "The Union Forever," and "Offend in Every Way" being my favorites.

2/24/26 - Listened during "work". I really like the White Stripes but found this album to be mediocre. Not too much stood out to me as special, though I understand the ground it broke at the time. As it stands, this is middle of the road White Stripes.
Best Song - Now Mary
