Such a beautiful voice

Good vibes, very smooth

If you don't rate this 5 stars, I'm sorry that you've never had love, lust, or happiness in your life.

All I know from this record is the title track, which is a solid song that makes its point quite clearly. Yes, ok Marvin
The rest of it is stuff that I’m glad to be introduced to - the way the backing singers, horn section, and percussion were integrated into the tunes makes this record more interesting than a lot of other material from this genre. Another record that I doubt I’ll listen to again. Could probably have lived without the slower songs, but otherwise I’m tapping my foot here and enjoying it.

A bit of a one track mind, but it succeeds

I enjoyed this one a lot more than Here, My Dear. The same smooth, funky, soul music, but this time it's more sexy and less resentful divorcee. Also a much more manageable run time to this one.

It's been a minute since I listened to What's Going On, but this one feels about the same quality. I might slightly prefer Let's Get It On simply because Save the Children was a bit on the nose for my tastes.

But don't got much else to say compared to What's Going On. Let's Get It On is also a timeless, lush record that's a delight to listen to. Only downside is there are no inductees for the "Marvin Gaye's Clueless Ass" playlist from this album. Sad, 2/10, would not listen again.

Title song is the song you think of when someone tries to imitate a porn soundtrack with a "bow chikka bow wow" wah wah sound.... Its sensual, dirty, horny, all them things. lay back and get your post listen cigarette ready, you'll need it.

I like it. Not sure I will ever listen to it again.

Rated 6/10

If you like slower, sensual music, this is the album for you! Unfortunately, it is not the album for me - I technically listened to the whole thing but I couldn't focus. There's nothing wrong with it, just not my thing!

Let's Get It On was actually really great for what it was. I know this album is primarily known for it's title track and that track's meme status but it is still a really good track and the other tracks here are great as well. The actual music here was really beautiful in places and features what probably will be the closest that we will ever get to having classical music on this list. Marvin's voice also was the perfect kind of voice for this album as it provided the romantic feel that the album needed. And none of the songs are bad either so it is a great album all around.
Best Song: If I Should Die Tonight
Worst Song: Keep Gettin' It On

I mean… put the record on and do what it says. You’re not gonna find better background music than this! Only lonely people read reviews while Marvin is singing.

Rated 8/10

Pretty good, especially the first 3 tracks. Gets a little same-y after that, but it's well crafted overall.

I never really thought about it but the opening guitar lick on this album is one of the most iconic guitar lines of all time. And it’s only played that one time, it never repeats. But if you play that one line most anybody will know what it is. Aside from that, I wasn’t huge on this album. Marvin Gaye has an incredible voice, but he be never clicked with his music. I can appreciate it, he’s a talented songwriter, I just don’t like the songs. Nothing wrong with them, just not my taste.

Oh it's about to get sexy.

Reading about Marvin Gaye and this album actually presents a sad story. Apparently, Marvin's father abused him and was very strict with him religiously as a child causing him to be impotent later in life and have sadomasochistic dreams. This album was a way for Marvin Gaye to escape that, to explore his spirituality through sexual healing. Anyone who listens to this without knowing that would probably just see Marvin Gaye as a sex-crazed musician who wanted to make people fuck. Knowing that Gaye is sexually healing through this album gives it a whole new meaning.

Unfortunately, this is just not my kind of music. Let's Get It On is good but the rest bored me.

Rated 8/10

The cliche bedroom music album for a reason. This album is just so damn sexy. Funky and soulful to the max.

Un disco de media hora que empieza con Let's Get It On no puede estar mal. Temazos como Keep Gettin' It On o Come Get To This.
Y buenas canciones como Distant Lover o You Sure Love To Ball o Just To Keep You Satisfied.
