Game changing. Great spin.

Mostly offensive, which is the point. Solid example of this genre of rap. Always like to see Flav show up.
I hope stuff works out for Ice Cube, sounds like he has a lot of problems 😏
Rated 6/10
I want to like this but the misogyny is just too overpowering. You can't kick a pregnant woman in the stomach, Mr. Cube. Also, it's far too long.

Rappiges sinnfreies Geschwurbele. Weder Kunst noch Musik.

The Good: We get an ice-cube, and that is appreciated as it’s summertime and hot as hell!
The Bad: The ice cube just kinda melted…
The Ugly: Me melting as the ice cube did not manage to cool me off!
Maybe, just maybe, the whole term Ice Cube has nothing to do with cooling things off, instead of irritating people when it starts to melt?
What?
I like Ice Cube, as an actor… and he’s had some good tunes too… just not this stuff… which get’s on ones’ nerve after a while. But then again, that is what Hip Hop does to me in general, so I should not bitch.
I do always find it interesting though to listen to ‘90s hippidy-hop-you-don’t-stop as it is a stark reminder that certain musical waves should just be avoided at all cost…
Also, where my ho at? I need some food and a refreshing drink…
2*, because I’m gangsta like that

It's not a bad hip hop record, but nowadays those mysoginistic lyrics are a bit overwhelming and problematic.

lyrics didn't age well and there's not much range. really repetitive.

Wow, "You Can't Fade Me" is fucking horrific. This is shit that would have appealed to 13 year old me, and I would have probably argued "oh, this was just for shock value." As an adult, it's just gross.
Stylistically and musically, this album hasn't aged well. I think the "fuck the police" and anti-black racism themes are unfortunately still relevant today. To give the benefit of the doubt, perhaps a good amount of the sexism on the album is either tongue in cheek or critical of people who behave that way, but it's still hard to stomach for me. If it hadn't been for the verse trading with Yo-Yo on It's A Man's World, I might not have been able to give any benefit of the doubt at all.
I don't regret listening to this, but I can't say I enjoyed it very much. I was definitely a lot more into it when I was an idiot. It's interesting how some albums lock themselves into a specific time period (this album, for example) while a person continues to age, and other albums even from 40-50 years ago seem like they could have been recorded yesterday because lyrics, music, and themes don't seem to have aged at all.

This album feels very theatrical. It's almost like he is playing a part. The woman hating seems put up on especially when he has a guest rapper come on at the end and undercuts it. One would assume this woman is buddies with him, the same way flav a flav is. Would he really talk about violent abortion with her in the room? I doubt it. I don't know it's all very ghetto drag to me. He has a good sharp flow but I can't listen to these misogynistic lyrics about hating women, hating gays, hating mexicans?(?) When you are trying to get respect for yourself. Putting down other people for your own gain feels really disingenuous and gross.

Lo he dicho muchas veces en esta lista. ¡Me encanta como suena el rap/hiphop de los 90. Me guardo: "The Nigga Ya Love to Hate", "The Nigga Ya Love to Hate", "You Can't Fade Me/JD's Gaffilin", "A Gangsta's Fairytale" (featuring Lil Russ) y otra más que no estaba originalmente "Endangered species" con Chuck D.

AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted showcases Ice Cube's talent following his departure from N.W.A. This album is the first and the best of Cube's solo career, delivering pure hip-hop and hard-hitting gangsta rap. His lyrical prowess takes centre stage, with narratives beyond the cliché street themes. The album opens with the bold line, “Fuck You Ice Cube!”, setting a self-reflective tone, while tracks like “You Can’t Fade Me” inject humour into his brash storytelling.
It was downhill from here.

You’re telling me this is the guy from the hit film Are We There Yet? Ice Cube’s solo debut features good production and provocative lyrics. These lyrics appear to succeed in their intent as evidenced by most of the reviews on this website. Doesn’t overstay its welcome, but I wish Mr. Cube would have changed his flows up a little more. Favorite songs were The N**** Ya Love To Hate, You Can’t Fade Me, Endangered Species, Rollin’ Wit The Lench Mob, and The Bomb.

Amazing flow, awesome beats, rough lyrics. There were points I laughed out loud where I felt really bad for laughing (esp. You Can't Fade Me). But that's also one of the things that makes this album great - Ice Cube is genuinely funny when rapping about serious topics (police brutality, white supremacy, jail, gun violence - "Outside the South Central area...Few cared about the violence because... it didn't affect them." - teenage pregnancy, etc.). Plus, the album just rocks - it was a great listen in my headphones while rocking out cleaning my office. As I say with a lot of rap - THIS IS NOT WRITTEN FOR ME - so I'd never listen to it out loud where anyone else could hear. But I can't deny this is probably one of the best rap albums I've listened to on the 1001 so far and that's why I'm going with the 5.

I don’t hate the beats but 90’s Hip Hop/Rap as a whole I really do not care for

Another n!99a calling n!99as n199a. Not my preference in subject matter. Engaging nonetheless.

Fun listen. Really liked the samples here and Ice Cube spits some great lyrics. May be misogynistic but Bitch is just a really nice word to say.
Rated 10/10
The delivery is so sure of it self, and the beats are so smooth. A very angry dude, with opinions have maybe not aged all that well in all areas, but the album is an absolute classic, and for good reason.

The albums rules.

It feels like Ice Cube was most of the way there. He clearly knows that the system of power is what is producing the awful outcomes in his community, but still chooses to denigrate the women suffering from the same systems of inequity. Loved the Flave feature. Didn't really care for the spittin'
