5 estrellas.

Ei Straitsien paras levy. Money for Nothing on toki hyvä raita, mutta muuten jää hieman tasapaksuksi.

This is way more cheesy 80s jazz than I signed up for. I mean there was a complete night and day difference between the first three songs and everything else. At first I was like, "I can dig this," but the second that godforsaken fourth song started playing I was wondering what I was doing with my life. The fifth and sixth songs were even worse. It got a little better by the time 'Brothers in Arms' came around. 45 minutes later.

Pretty nice songs throughout.
Standout tracks: So Far Away, Money for Nothing, Walk of Life, Why Worry

Dire Straits will always have a special place in my heart. They remind me of my father - it’s his favourite band - and the thought of my favourite person in the world as my music mentor is comforting, and warms my heart.

I did not like this. It wasn't at all what I thought it was going to be, it was very slow. It definitely had an 80s feel, but not overly so, like George Michael and that Scritti Politti nonsense.
Still not good.

Pretty good. The hits were solid, I liked the longer, instrumental songs mixed in. I may go back occasionally for the vibes, but just o.k. overall. 3/5

Fun album with fun lyrics

Some classic hits on here. So Far Away is the highlight for me. Otherwise a pretty laid-back groove. Mark Knopfler plays some gorgeous guitar. A good late at night with a whiskey album.

Utter fucking tripe
Rated 6/10
Well, one thing I can take away from this album is that in a rare case the extended (normal) version of Money for Nothing is actually better than the radio edit, as the additional lyrics and longer outro allows the song to feel far less repetitive. Otherwise, this album feels exactly like what being middle-aged in the 80s probably felt like. It's got some good tracks, but it feels like driving on dirt roads alone whether it be day or night, having good moments and bad moments, and overall being a solid enough life, but overall insignificant. That may seem a little harsh, but save for some of the songs playing in every fast food joint across America, this album feels like a time capsule of music that just isn't all that intriguing right now. I like the droning feel of the B-side, and the hits are catchy, but nothing here is impactful, and I can't justify giving it higher than a middling score.

This album starts off so strong, the first 3-4 songs make you think you're going to get a 5 star easy, no thought about it album. But it drags quite a bit in the second half. So it's a good album, but not perfect by any means.
Rated 4/10
I understand he's playing a character and he's actually talking about himself, but it feels gross hearing a straight man say that. That being said I have this on vinyl for some reason and every 10 years or so I try to listen to this album thinking it will be better than it ever actually is. just sort of dull.

There's some classic tunes on here. Overall enjoyed this album!

The opening tracks are classics, but it really trails off after that.

Better than I expected. Pretty well produced strong 80's sound. Mark Knopfler is a pretty impressive dude. 3.5/5

It's nice enough, and it's not too offensive. There's some quite good songs in here, more so on the first half. There's some nice variation in music, instruments and so on. I'm not excited by any of it, but it's nice.
The second half all goes a bit slow and the length of the tracks start to wear on you a little bit more. Side note: It's a rubbish album cover, but I won't hold that against it.
A perfectly acceptable, middle of the road 3.

Het volgende nummer is Money for Nothing.
