Nevermind the twenty years in between, this feels like a direct spiritual successor to X-Ray Spex, and I'm immediately in! It just needs a little saxophone to really push it over the top for me. Why did we surrender all of our brass and woodwinds to Ska?

ANYWHO. What an album. I had a few of these tracks on a larger playlist already, but I'll be adding more and checking out the rest of Le Tigre's catalog.

Really enjoyed it without it having that absolute stand out banger to get the extra star

Hey this was cool, sort of indie rock/electronic/60s mix.

Rated 8/10

I knew I’d like it, but I didn’t know I’d love it.

4 Grrreat. Enjoyed the experimental tracks on the latter side as well.

Surprisingly excellent. Le Tigre proves you've gotta be melodically interesting and prioritize that to successfully deliver an overt political message in your music. Love the atmosphere on quite a few of these tracks. The guitar sound, while repeated quite a bit, gives the band an incredibly easy-to-pick-out sound. Vocal style of each member works, too. "Deceptacon" is the big one, but I also am very impartial to "Eau d'Bedroom Dancing" and "Hot Topic."

I’d not listened to this one before. Heard a few of the tracks individually. Really enjoyed it, a real shame there wasn’t more of this type of music going into the early/mid 2000s.

Used to listen to Bikini Kill a fair bit. This is different but just as cool

Great energy. Opener was an absolute banger!

I've heard "Deceptacon" off this on the radio but never the whole thing, so let's get into it now.

And: Hooray for women doing chaotic-sounding, fun-yet-angry pop music. These are great songs, with just enough thought behind the lyrics and discordant crunching in the music to keep me happy. Extra points for the fabulous intentionally crap album cover.

Like The Slits meet Tom Tom Club. In a good way.

I had no knowledge of this band, but read Riot Grrl and was expecting harsh guitars and angry screaming.

Instead this is unexpectedly sprightly and lively.

Actually, if the Slits and Tom Tom Club partied with DEVO and B52s. That's what it's like.

Never heard of this before, is this some kind of feminist dance punk? Actually not too bad, some very cool tracks, but I don't like a lot of drum machine beats here, probably mid 3 stars for me.

Men må nevne "Eau d'bedroom dancing" og "What's Yr Take On Cassavetes" som høydepunkter. Heldigvis er plata kort, som gjør den mid istedet for kjip.

𝘓𝘦 𝘛𝘪𝘨𝘳𝘦 is the kind of album that would make your conservative uncle sprint to Facebook to warn that “the kids have gone too far.” Every track feels engineered to short-circuit a MAGA brain: punchy electro-punk beats, feminist slogans, and a level of political confidence that no “antiwoke” warrior could sit through without muttering something about “the downfall of civilization.” The record is loud, clever and gloriously unapologetic — a neon protest sign set to music. It’s irresistible precisely because it doesn’t try to be polite.

Rated 8/10

This rips and I wish I had listened to it more in high school/college. I feel like I've heard about 1000 bands who are trying to sound like the first track (most of them from LA and used to play at The Smell). There's quite a bit of sonic diversity on this album though; it's punky and funky and weird, but definitely 1 of 1.

lindo lindo lindo

uma pena não ter bikini kill na lista, mas esse aqui cumpre bem o papel. acho gostosinho pra caraio, punkzão só pedrada com uma pegadinha pop new wave. bom DEMAIS, vai tomar no cu, ficarei obcecado novamente.

Dig it! High speed, crunchy guitars, awesome melodies, funny. A little bit B52s, a little bit Luscious Jackson.
