This album was pretty good. My only qualms were that her singing was generally lackluster, and that Son of a Preacher Man stood out as a single, with no other songs coming close to matching the quality. All in all not bad vibes - 3/5.

I really wanted to like this but it was so boring and beige
If all songs sounded like son of a preacher man - the score would have much higher

It’s a 3.5 that I’m gonna pretty easily bump up to a 4.
It’s all in her voice; it’s what carries this album through and through. Even though there’s some super good lyrics in here and some really catchy instrumentals, her voice just glides over everything and cuts through like butter. I think this album shines brightest when the instrumentation is either a bit more minimal, to let her voice stick out the most, or when the instrumentation builds into this bombastic piece to let her voice just glide up with it and still really stick out. Whenever it’s sort of in the middle, where the instrumentation is too much and too sudden, those songs just never fully kept me engaged for one reason or another.
Either way, it’s a fabulous listen, and there are some real classics in here, I think. Pretty pleased with a 4. Shoutout to I Don’t Want to Hear It Anymore.

Mein Geheimtip ist „The Windmill of your mind“.

Some great songs like son of a preacher man and so much love. Dusty has a stunning voice. Lots of soul, a British Icon
Favourite song: Son of a preacher man
Least favourite:All nice tracks
Album artwork: Iconic: Great cover
Rated 6/10
Son of a Preacher Man is a stone cold R&B classic. Virtually all of the rest of it sounds like late 60s/early 70s filler - hard to tell it apart from any other average sound from the era. It's fine, just not special.
Rated 6/10
After giving Dusty In Memphis a good listen, It is actually a pretty good album. Dusty had a very good voice and the music had a similar style to that of the albums from Elton John or Billy Joel that i heard, which i really like. Some of the songs could be a little forgettable though, However, It was still a good album
Best Song: The Windmills of Your Mind
Worst Song: So Much Love

Rated 6/10
I like her voice (although there were a few Cilla-ish moments on one of the tracks). Son of a Preacher Man is the standout here - a classic. Everything else is good, but not super memorable.

I liked it and took me back to being a very small child
Rated 5/10
Preacher Man elevates this a lot

It was vibey to take a walk to this one but I probably wouldnt listen to this type of pop music normally.
Rated 10/10
Slightly shocked to find that Dusty Springfield recorded both "You Don't Own Me" and "Son of a Preacher Man." And "The Windmills of Your Mind" is just the best version of it, even though Dusty apparently hated it.
Rated 8/10
This is a lovely album. It's real smooth and chilled. I love her voice, I love the instrumentation and melodies, and it's just a real nice time overall.
Rated 8/10
She really does have an excellent voice, and there is some melancholic sounds here I enjoy quite a bit as well. I don't understand this "Son of A Preacher Man" praise, though, it was probably my least favorite song on the album. Heresy, I realize, but the album is very good nonetheless.

Het album van Son of a Preacher Man.
