Honestly when this popped up I wasn’t really in the mood for it but it grabbed me within less than a minute of the first track. A perfect, easy listen for a quiet Sunday in work.
Top Track - Our House

Better than Coldplay
Rated 2/10
I got extremely bored because I reaaally don't like this type of folksy country stuff at all. Pretty vocal harmonies though.
Rated 8/10
Really really great folk album that showcases 4 great songwriters putting together a great mixture of some of their strongest stuff. There's like 7 classics in a row on this thing. The finale track is kind of a bad ending, though.
Rated 8/10
I love how you get a sense of each of their individual songwriting and performing styles as you traverse the album.

Deja Vu is an album that’s better listened to song by song. The harmonies in the singing get to be a bit much when you listen to all of it together. The songs are all good but a bit of variety would help. And unsurprisingly my favorite songs were the ones written by Neil Young
Rated 8/10
Honestly, so far this is, as I expected a bit better indeed than the CSN album I got on this list before, might even go for 4 stars this one. After a few re-listens it's quite clear that the addition of Mr. Neil Young definitely elevates this project to another level. I should REVISIT this one again in the future.

Again, I’m not American enough for this shit. I fucking hate their folk and folk rock and country and whatever other genre this album has. It’s soooooo boring. It's not the worst thing ever, better than Neil Young solo albums. But it's just eh. It's alright.
Rated 8/10
It's a pretty flawless record which peaks at the perfect 1-2 of Deja Vu and Our House. It's an obvious thing to say, but the combined skills of the album’s different writers opens up a range of possibilities and styles. It's not a consistent product but it's all the better for it. I particularly like Neil Young’s vocals, he strikes me as their most valuable player. The flaw in the Persian rug for me would probably be Almost Cut My Hair which took me a few listens to get beyond the lyrics. Every other song though is a warm hug of perfectly executed folk rock.

Huh, turns out I’m a CSN&Y guy.
Rated 8/10
great folk rock. harmonies are tight, and just sweet enough without verging into kitschy arena rock territory. i do find the head voice/falsetto thing a little grating from time to time
Rated 8/10
CSN are good, but they’re so much better when Neil Young is involved. Déjà Vu is a strong album, even if it sticks fairly closely to their familiar formula and often feels like variations on what they’d already done.
That said, this record is packed with classic songs, stunning melodies and superb guitar playing, and it really captures a moment in time. The gentle, folky, peace-and-love sixties shine through on tracks like Déjà Vu and Our House — both superb pop songs — while they’re balanced by grittier, rougher rock moments elsewhere on the album. There’s real variety here.
It’s not a radical reinvention, but it’s confident, warm and full of songs that have rightly lasted.
Favourite track: Carry On – a brilliant track and one of the album’s real highlights.
Least favourite track: Everything here earns its place.
Album artwork: Nice dog, but a bit dull overall – not one you’d frame and hang on the wall.

This is a Neil Young Orbital project, and like most Neil Young Orbital projects, it's a pretty decent album with like three or four amazing songs. Here, my favorites are Almost Cut My Hair, Helpless, Deja Vu, and Country Girl, although I would like to give some flowers to Carry On too. Although, I would like to note that Helpless and Country Girl kind of got a free pass: Young is my favorite of the four songwriters here, and he's my favorite vocalist of the group. Although, I would like to note the attention to detail in the arrangements and performances here from all of the members. Even the songs I'm not into are very intricately assembled, and I do admire it. But, as I said, despite the handful of really great songs here, and the high level of execution, the full picture is just "pretty good". In folk and roots rock, there really isn't getting around it if there are songs I'm not really into, and there are a good few here. That being said, if you enjoy any of the music that this project is connected too, probably give this at least one listen.

Kind of surprised by how much I like this. I'm not normally a fan of folk but this has a lot more emphasis on the 'rock' than the 'folk' of 'folk rock'.
There isn't much here that really stands out to me as particularly unique or exciting, but a lot of it is fun and has a cozy, comforting vibe. I really don't like the country slide sound on "Teach Your Children" and the more folk-oriented stuff in general didn't do anything for me. But songs like "Our House" go down easy and that seems to be the dominant sound on the album. Not bad!

Now we’re talking. Perfect album, great melodies and lyrics and those harmonies are like a warm hug. Syrupy songs like Our House, are counterpointed by the harder rock sound of songs like Almost Cut my Hair. No fillers here.

Good songs. Whiney voices 🙉

Noen kjedelige, noen flotte
Rated 8/10
All the songs on here were great, but I don’t feel passionate enough about it to give it a 5. That said, I will be coming back to this in the summer, which feels more appropriate for it than a soggy December, and that might bump it up to five for me.
