I'm not a pop guy, but I would consider this good pop. While it doesn't resonate with me, it is a decent piece of work.

I had planned on listening to the English language version only, with perhaps the addition of the two songs that exist only on the French version, but i ended up enjoying it enough that I listened to the whole hour-and-a-half of it in one sitting. That's got to be worth at least a four, right?

Rated 3/10

Interesting. Poppy French. Nothing mind blowing and probably would not search it out.

Fantastic album.

Beautiful voice, fantastic recording, great production. Girlfriend is an absolute banger. Loads of other great tracks. Nothing original going on musically, but it’s all done well.

Worthy modern addition to the list.

My type of music, but not 1001 material. Sorry.

Rated 6/10

Vähän pitkä mutta arvostan kyllä tätä kasarithrowbackia! 3/5

Rated 1/10

It's not awful but "Must Hear Before You Die"? If we're limited to 1001, then there are definitely better candidates not yet included. My dislike for this album is also greatly enhanced by the fact that the digital versions of this album basically repeat themselves, making it even worse for listening to in an album format.

Rated 8/10

What a pleasant, Pop-y surprise!

Rated 2/10

Retro-rehashed '80s and '90s pop that countless other artists did better. What a useless pile of crap this album is.

Rated 6/10

I've always said I don't like 80s music, but I've had an interesting, and frankly, shocking, run of 80s albums lately that show me that it's not 80s *music* I don't like, it's 80s *pop* music I don't like. Well, this album was released in 2018 but sounds like it was released in 1981. It's bubblegum poppy, complete with a heavy reliance on synth.

Actually, the more I listened to it, it's still obviously *heavily* influenced by 80s pop, it is kind of an updated sound that I actually didn't hate. Yet another time I wish for half stars, but since I don't have them, and I'd listen to this album 10 times before I subjected myself to Iron Butterfly which I gave a 2, this gets a 3.

„Chris“ von Christine and the Queens ist ein kraftvolles, aber nicht durchgehend überzeugendes Album. Mit Themen wie Identität und Selbstermächtigung beeindruckt es konzeptionell, verliert jedoch musikalisch an Tiefe.

Rated 4/10

I don't like this type of music.

Rated 6/10

Every song repeats the chorus at least two times too many. I don’t like these songs enough to listen to them again in French.

Rated 8/10

Pretty great 80s synth sound that works really well with her voice. I was entertained all the way through.

Rated 4/10

Poppy shit, unclear of why it's here. Sounded kind of generic. 2*

Rated 6/10

it's an ok pop album

Rated 8/10

My first reaction to this album was "I bet it will be removed from the next edition." The first couple of tracks were ok - I thought I heard shades of Michael Jackson and figured this would be a 3. But then I found the next few tracks were very catchy (and I no longer heard MJ) and I was enjoying the album. The next thing I knew I was listening to the album on repeat for a while in the background, just enjoying bopping along. Finally got to listen closely and still liked it, but noted that the singing cadence in English was a little off - it sounded more natural in French, although since I don't speak French it could easily be as odd in French and I wouldn't know! I still wouldn't be surprised if it gets pulled - while I like the music, it doesn't sound that original - but I definitely enjoyed listening. Favorite tracks: The Walker, 5 Dollars, Make Some Sense.

Rated 2/10

It's... fine. Pretty generic synth pop. Not deserving of being on this list in my opinion.
