BummedHappy Mondays

Rated 10/10

I don’t think I’ve ever listened to this album but it’s brilliant. I love the slightly more chilled out vibe but it’s just so melodic and catchy. Regretting not checking this out sooner.

Probably a decent offering if you’re into that thing and a good example of that type of music from that era. Just find it hard to keep my attention with that type of album.

The only thing I really remember about Mercury Rev is the local community copper telling Sul off for wearing one of their T-shirts to college as it had a swear word on.

However listening to this now with a cheap bottle of red wine I feel I missed out a bit. Really enjoyed it.

A real assault on the senses but I guess that’s the point. I really liked this album and hard to believe it was made in 1970. Another great offering from Iggy and the Stooges.

Well it’s a good listen. Every song pretty much sounds the same which lets it down a bit but it’s still a decent album.

What a great album. Seems slightly ahead of its time and a nice mix of grunge and shoegaze, grungegaze if you will.

The more listens I gave it the more songs grew on me. Nice find and will be revisiting.

I tried to like this but just couldn’t really. It just didn’t really do anything of note and by the end felt like it was just dragging to its inevitable conclusion.

Got slightly better as it went on but didn’t find it anything particularly special or attention grabbing and overall rather dull.

Not sure if the ringing in my ears is from my existing tinnitus or from listening to this. It’s not terrible but I couldn’t really discern one track from the next. Nothing particularly stood out.
