Not sure if I ever listened to the whole album back in the day. Knew the singles which have kind of been overplayed. I did like a few of the albums tracks. Bit of a mixed bag but on the whole not bad.

A strange mush mash of songs that didn’t really feel cohesive as an album. Also a range of conflicting song styles though most were on the bland side. A couple of good ones though and certainly this offering was much better than the last we had of his. Way too long though as well.

So I’ve always previously stated that I was a bigger fan of the Beatles later works rather than the early stuff.
What this project has taught me is that I now think my favourite Beatles era might actually just be the music that falls in the middle, in that period of transition between the early and later sound.

A lovely little hidden gem of an album. Some delightful songs which I really wasn’t expecting. From a misbehaving flea to a woman too busy dancing to care for her dead husband (until it was time to hear the will) and many other interesting songs in between. Something different which was refreshingly interesting.

Thought is started alright but then pretty rapidly descended into run of the mill R&B which is not really my cup of tea.

Unmistakably the Byrds but can’t say it drew me in as much as the previous offering we had of theirs.

Twas alright, nothing more, nothing less

Got to admit it was more entertaining than I was expecting. Will likely never listen again but actually quite nice to have something a bit different from the usual stuff on here.
Now for something a bit calmer!

I’ve never really warmed to Muse for some reason. I have to say I did like a couple of the album tracks here but overall I found my listening pleasure decrease with each listen. Which is odd as usually it’s the other way round. Which I’m guessing tells me all I need to know about this and that I probably won’t be seeking too many relistens in the near future.
Interesting album. Pretty raw and perhaps typical of JL to release something like this post-Beatles. Something that people are perhaps not expecting.
Quite good in some places, not so much in others. Calm in some songs, very shouty in others.

I can see why this didn’t do as well as Rumours. Nothing outstanding but equally nothing terrible. Just fair to middling stuff.

I’m not sure I’ve ever heard a Joni Mitchell song that didn’t sound like every song on this album.

Not an easy listen but fair play to a Bjork for trying something different at least.

No more jazz, PLEASE!
Rated 8/10
Still as enjoyable a listen as I remember back in the day. Ok so it dipped a bit after the first half dozen or so songs but still great.
Rated 8/10
Feared I wouldn’t like this but was pleasantly surprised. It was actually very good. Ok so a couple of tracks in I thought it was all going to be the same and rather dull but then it changed and picked up a bit and became more listenable. After a couple of listens it had really grown on me. Not too dissimilar to Bob Dylan in places but without all the annoying parts!

What a great record, another new one to me but well worth the wait. A lot of great songs on here and a couple that I couldn’t believe were made in the sixties as they sounded much more modern.
Nice that this project can keep throwing up bands and albums I’ve never heard of but are also very enjoyable.

Quite enjoyed a lot of this after it had grown on me following a few listens. Can also hear the influences this had on later bands like Teenage Fanclub.
I just can’t get into Jazz. But I’m sure it’s good if you like this sort of thing.

The only interesting thing I could find in this is the fact his name rhymes with Ronald Reagan.
