THE HYPE'S DESERVED!

As Adrian Belew once said...

I LIKE IT!

NEED TO HEAR RATING: DEFINITELY HEAR

Best song: Nowhere Man
Worst song: Run For Your Life
Underrated: I'm Looking Through You

Rated 10/10

start of the greatest 5 year run in music yet

Rated 10/10

It's The Beatles. 'nuff said

Rated 8/10

Supi dupi, klassisch Beatles, sehr cozy

Rated 10/10

In my opinion this is where it all really starts, with the release of this album they really take off and reach the whole new level and yet more is to come. Probably 5 stars. Though, admitetelly out of all 5 stars Beatles albums this might be the only one I have pondered between 4 and 5 for some reason..

Rated 6/10

It has a number of strong songs, including one of my personal favourites in the Beatles catalogue: Norwegian Wood. Rubber Soul marks a turning point in their music style towards psychedelic music (Sitar!) and is a very important Album in their discography, but overall not one of their best.

Rated 10/10

It’s hard to review a Beatles album. It’s like writing a book report on the bible. What, am I gonna tell you it sucks?
This is a communal classic, important to the development of pop, rock and culture. It would be hard to overstate it’s importance.
There was a time in my younger life when I thought Norwegian Wood was the pinnacle of songwriting. I’m still in awe of the lush melody and the beauty and simplicity with which the images and story unfold. There’s an apartment complex named The Norwegian Wood on the long road from the highway to the UConn campus in the woods of Northeastern Connecticut and I still cannot drive past it without thinking about burning it down.
This is great music, redefined pop that wades into all sorts of other influences and genres in meaningful and memorable ways.

152 entires in and I finally got a Beatles album. Wasn’t really surprised by this one my favorite is Sgt Pepper. 6/10

Rated 4/10

Man, I cannot stand the Beatles. I cannot stand how people continue to act like they’re the pinnacle of music.

But I’ll be goddamned if they don’t have the occasional banger, and In My Life is one of them. This album was a slog of mediocre sameness, and then they hit you with this masterpiece. It’s outrageous, really.

Anyway, In My Life gets a full star all on its own.

Rated 8/10

Schönes Beatles Album, mehr aber auch nicht

Rated 6/10

Two Beatles in a row! What even are the chances? This one is significantly worse than the last, that being The White Album, but it’s still important. Also, it’s got some bangers! The majority of this album is really quite great. Frankly, however, this album also contains some pretty dismal numbers. “The Word” is annoying, and so is “What Goes On.” “Run For Your Life,” despite the pretty good vocal performance, is very plainly contemptible, and I can’t help but dislike it for that. Truly, this album is an important turning point for the band, and it can be pleasant, with some incredible songs, but I don’t see how I could truly love it, at least for what it plainly is.

Beatles album #2 and I’ve yet to be interested. It’s a weak 3

Rated 6/10

The transition album between basic pop Beatles and the influential genre-pushing Beatles

Rated 8/10

This album feels so personal

Rated 8/10

One of those middling Beatles albums I never bothered to look at. Boy I wish I'd checked it out sooner! Just brilliant songs well made, the perfect blend of their early and late work

Rated 6/10

Verlengde lettergrepen moeten alles oplossen:

"Say the woooooooooooord and-you'll-be-free."
En twee nummers later:
"What Goes ooooooooon in-your-heart?"

Rated 10/10

My fave Beatles record probably

Rated 10/10

Great way to start the project. This is a Beatles album, and a very good one at that. Everyone is on top form on this album; the breakdowns on “Drive My Car” remind you that Ringo is a world class drummer, George’s guitar solo on “Nowhere Man” is surprisingly crisp, and John and Paul are John and Paul the whole time. There really isn’t a miss on this album and I’d happily listen to it again for every day of this project. Some songs feel a bit dated, but it’s Rubber Soul so that is easily disregarded.

Rated 10/10

The bass and the dumming alone make this album very good. Add to that the great melodies and it's a very solid album.

Favorite Songs: Drive My Car ; Girl ; In My Life
