I wasn't expecting The Colour Of Spring to be as good as it is but man i was pleasantly surprised. I was mainly expecting Talk Talk (Not to be confused with The Psychedelic Furs album of nearly the same name (just missing another talk)) to be just another 80s new wave band which went the same for this album but it is a pretty decent step above a lot of it's contemporaries. It of course still has some of the cheesiness that you would expect to find in a lot of these albums but this one was also pretty melodic and definitely had some pretty relaxing vibes to it. This album was quite the nice surprise.

Dog Man StarSuede

Rated 8/10

Dog Man Star is a really good album but i don't think it's as good as Suede's debut. I guess i could attribute my feelings to my mood because i was pretty sleepy when i was listening to this but this album still feels like a step back in a few ways. The music took the biggest hit, while it was still good and still had a decent bit of interesting moments like the majority of the back half being reserved entirely for ballads but i still feel like the first album did it better. The vocals are about the same and the lyrics are a step up due to sounding a bit less weird. This definitely still is a really good album but i still prefer the self titled album.
Best Song: New Generation
Worst Song: The Wild Ones

Ladies and gentlemen, I think i have found it, I have found the most 80s album to ever exist with Kilimanjaro. Pretty much every single element of 80s music that has appeared in those albums, it's all here from the keyboards, to the synths, to the bass, to the guitars, to the vocals, to the lyrics its got everything you can think of which means it really earns that new wave tag. As for the album's quality, it's fine albeit nothing all that special. Beyond some decent melodies, there isn't really anything that stands out about this album, neither good or bad. The album was only around 37 minutes long so it is a pretty harmless listen.
Best Song: Poppies In The Field
Worst Song: Books

Live! is certainly a livelier album than i expected to be (no pun intended). I guess it might have been helped by the fact that not only did Fela Kuti perform it but also Cream's former drummer Ginger Baker helped out as well (of course alongside The Africa'70). It may not be as good as the other album i have heard in this project that he worked on (Cream's Disraeli Gears to those of you curious) this is still a fun album to listen to. The music had a very nice charm to it with it always sounding lively and upbeat even if it did feel like the album was dragging itself out a bit. There are better albums like this but i still enjoyed this one.
Best Song: Black Man's Cry
Worst Song: Let's Start

Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots was certainly a very charming album. This album mainly seems to take after the soft rock elements from The Flaming Lips' prior album The Soft Bulletin but adds quite a bit of quirk and even somewhat of a story in the lyrics (Well, enough to the point of this album getting a whole musical based on it). A lot of the electronic elements here make me think that this album is the second closest one to being a lo-fi album too (closest being DJ Shadow's Endtroducing...) which i actually do quite like as the songs have a unique relaxing vibe. I did feel that there were points when the album gets a little too long but i still enjoyed this one quite a fair bit.
Best Song: One More Robot / Sympathy 3000-21
Worst Song: Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, Pt. 2

Slippery When Wet is often seen as a classic among classic rock albums and after listening to it, i can absolutely see why because it genuinely is great. I thought these songs had already lost their luster seeing as i have heard the singles like You Give Love A Bad Name, Livin' On A Prayer and Wanted Dead Or Alive on classic rock stations quite a lot but they were all seriously great songs and the others are still no slouches in the slightest. And this goes without saying that there was not a bad song in sight on this album as they are all greats in their own way. I do think that something is preventing me from 5 staring this album but it is still a great one regardless.
Best Song: I'd Die For You
Worst Song: Never Say Goodbye

Gasoline Alley was a pretty uninteresting album but still a solid one nonetheless. I don't really know if there is anything that this album does differently from all of it's contemporaries as it does just sound like a generic 70s blues rock album. It certainly isn't bad though, there are quite a couple of songs with some fun guitar work and some good vocals by Roddy himself. There also wasn't a bad song here at all as they were all good while at worst being a bit forgettable. I still enjoyed my time with this album even if there isn't really anything else i can say about it so I'm just regurgitating the point i made up top at this point.
Best Song: You're My Girl (I Don't Want To Discuss It)
Worst Song: Lady Day

Don't Come Home A Drinkin' (With Lovin' On Your Mind) is an album that doesn't really do anything all that interesting but does the best it can in what it does do. It more or less has the sound that you would expect from a female-sang country album from the 60/70s so like a lot of those, it is a fairly basic album. The songs at least do everything well like having good vocals which is probably the highlight of the album as well as decent music and lyrics. It certainly is a very repetitive album as every song uses only a few formulas (and by a few, i mean 2 or 3) but the album was very short so it wasn't too big of an issue. This album isn't amazing but there is certainly worse out there.
Best Song: Don't Come Home A Drinkin' (With Lovin' On Your Mind)
Worst Song: Tomorrow Never Comes

Something Else By The Kinks is an interesting title that's given to a pretty good album. As far as i have heard, The Kinks do seem to be yet another Beatles clone which were more than prevalent during the 60s and they have a lot of the things you would expect from The Beatles including all the quirkiness. I'd honestly say the worst part of this album is something that isn't really the band's fault that being the recording quality but this is to be expected considering this album came out in the 1960s. The songs still sound quirky and full of energy and the album was short so i still found quite a bit to like about this album.
Best Song: Situation Vacant
Worst Song: Death of a Clown

Nick Of Time was a pretty good album. This album was certainly a country album, i will give it that. This album basically had all the sound styles that you would expect from a country album like the slow guitar song, the more upbeat song with some harmonicas among many other things with some of those being blues elements as well. Most of the songs here were pretty good and had some pretty groovy vibes to them and at worst they could be a little bit boring and forgettable. The forgettable songs were not very common in this album but unfortunately, they were still there. This album is a pretty solid album that i would not be against listening to in the future.
Best Song: Love Letter
Worst Song: Nobody's Girl

The White Room was a fairly solid album. The sounds of this album mostly makes me think of them as songs from Super Nintendo games but in CD quality (I guess we would have gotten stuff like this if the Super Nintendo CD had released). Anyways, this album definitely does have quite a few good moments as well as some more boring and forgettable ones. I mainly liked the songs that had a good beat to them which is how i like songs in most electronic albums but i also did like some of the extra touches they added in some songs like a saxophone bit. This one may be a bit lacking in comparison to other electronic albums i have heard but it is still an enjoyable album nonetheless.
Best Song: Go To Sleep
Worst Song: Build A Fire

Look, I really wanted to like Psychocandy but when the production is just this bad, i gotta dock major points from this album. I am no stranger to noise rock as i have listened to many of those types of albums through this project but i have never seen them have production that is this low quality. Its a real shame too because there are things i like about this album. There are some decent ideas with the guitars and the vocals and it is a good thing this album isn't very long so it never got unbearable to listen to but i can not get over this production. This album isn't horrible but i just am having a really tough time recommending this to even noise rock fans since the production here is so bad and makes awful ringing noises and when there are just far better albums like this.
Best Song: Just Like Honey
Worst Song: It's So Hard

The Who Sell Out is certainly a pretty interesting album. This probably is The Who's quirkiest album of them all (or at least the ones i have heard) seeing as this one consists of a lot of commercial jingles like the ones for the products you see on the front and back covers. Of course, the typical The Who formula still applies to this album seeing as it does feel like a Beatles clone just like My Generation did but this one definitely has more quirk than that album did. The songs here are pretty solid albeit kinda forgettable which applies to this album more than it does a lot of their other albums but i still would not say this is The Who's worst album.
Best Song: I Can See For Miles
Worst Song: Rael
Side note: Since i am checking The Who off of my list, i will give a list all The Who albums i have heard here ranked:
1. Live At Leeds
2. Who's Next
3. My Generation
4. The Who Sell Out
5. Tommy

ElasticaElastica

Rated 8/10

Elastica is certainly an enjoyable album. I am always in the mood for a good punk album and this album certainly delivered on that. I did not think it was perfect with the vocals feeling weak at times but when it comes to the music, that was handled pretty well for the most part. Every part of the music manages to steal the show in all of these songs with the trifecta of the guitars, bass and drums. They were all very good and could often be at their best during very different points of the album. The melodies here were also very infectious and catchy in a lot of these songs too. This isn't a perfect album but for what it does, it still is very good.
Best Song: S.O.F.T.
Worst Song: Indian Song

PyromaniaDef Leppard

Rated 10/10

I guess i should have expected this after listening to Hysteria but Pyromania is such an awesome album. It might not have as many of Def Leppard's most famous songs but they are still very much here. And of course it should come as no surprise that all of these songs are great. They have the typical characteristics like catchy melodies, heavy guitars and some really great vocals. There are also some slight diversions with the formula which kept the songs fresh while still feeling like they fit well including Billy's Got A Gun's more swingy style. Like i said prior, every song is also an absolute banger meaning that this really is one of the best albums i have looked at for this project.
Best Song: Photograph
Worst Song: Foolin'

HejiraJoni Mitchell

Rated 6/10

Hejira is a pretty good album. This album definitely does have a lot of the typical Joni Mitchell staples that you would expect from her. It has lyrics that are more like poetry and i think that is easily the best part about this album as it really does show what Joni is capable of and she does tell some great stories here. The music here is also alright, some pretty good sounding stuff but i do feel it doesn't go all the way and isn't as memorable due to it just not having enough elements to keep it interesting and to set it apart from it's cotemporaries. Its a good album, i just feel that it is not the best that it could have been.
Best Song: Black Crow
Worst Song: Coyote

Bizarre title aside, Feast of Wire is most certainly an interesting album. I think that another name for this album could be "Sounds of a Mexican Restaurant" because a lot of these songs definitely sound like something you would hear from a Mexican restaurant which kinda does make sense seeing as this band is from Southern US. The album itself does sound pretty good, it mainly flip-flops between songs with vocals and solely instrumental songs. Most of these songs are handled well and do have their fair share of interesting elements beyond the Mexican sounding stuff but i don't really think are memorable enough to be elevated beyond the good status.
Best Song: Black Heart
Worst Song: Pepita

In Our Heads was a much greater album than i was expecting. I was only expecting an okay album with a few highlights when i got my first impressions on the previews on these songs but hearing them in full has allowed me to fully appreciate just how good a lot of them are. Hot Chip's style of music in this album really shined with a lot of the tracks sounding very melodic but also being fun and groovy whenever they need to be. I also really enjoyed a lot of the lyrics as those all fit their songs very well. Not every song was perfect but when the songs were good, they were really good.
Best Song: These Chains
Worst Song: Now There Is Nothing

Axis: Bold As Love was definitely a really good album. Since Jimi Hendrix mainly does psych-rock, the songs here all have that psych-rock vibe to them. It is, of course, a style i do have a soft spot for especially when it is combined with hard rock. This album is very trippy as you would expect from a psych-rock album but also is very groovy and pretty easy to get into. This album does take a while to get going but when it does, it really does. I also like this album more than Electric Ladyland since it is just far more accessible than that album ever was even with this one's quirks. This album is certainly a great one that i absolutely think deserves a spot on this list.
Best Song: Little Wing
Worst Song: Exp

Take Me ApartKelela

Rated 6/10

Take Me Apart is definitely a jack of all trades, master of none type of album. A lot of the time, i really do like the mix of R&B as well as hip-hop/electronic type of music this album is going for and it does seem to do that style well. The music is pretty good, Kelela has some good vocals and the lyrics are solid as well. The problem is, that's all the album really does. Every song seems to rely on this formula with some slight changes here and there but each song more or less gives the same kind of vibe. This causes a lot of the songs to become pretty forgettable as they all blend in too well. This album is far from bad but i did expect more from it.
Best Song: Blue Light
