Entertainingly weird but I'm not sure how much I'd actually listen to it as it's genuinely unpleasantly out of key a lot. I'm interested but in a purely intellectual way.

Not my vibe really but it's not unpleasant either. The intro is a bit goofy and feels VERY dated but you can't really blame them when it's 60+ years old.
Rated 10/10
A landmark album for indie rock and just banger after banger.
Rated 2/10
Generic 60s garage. It's fine but it doesn't do anything notable enough to justify its inclusion here in my eyes.
Rated 10/10
Feels like an amalgamation of a lot of stuff I really dig - Neil Young-esque vocals, Flaming Lips influenced instrumentals, and even a bit of Chemical Brothers influence. Very cool. I will have to check them out more.
More unique than the other album from them I heard here which is nice. Still a bit too "classic rock" for my tastes but I didn't feel the need to turn it off. I liked the brass section.

Another really consistent proto-punk album from The Stooges. Very tight with almost no filler. I always like when punk throws in a saxophone too.
Rated 6/10
Definitely very 80s feeling but I'm a fan regardless. They did a good job integrating synths while still feeling like a rock band here.
Rated 6/10
Not really my thing but I can respect it. The beats are very well produced and chill. Waterfalls is a fun song. I think they should've trimmed a couple tracks, especially the interludes and made it a bit tighter.
Rated 4/10
The mix of electronica and tango is definitely novel and interesting. I think it doesn't really do enough to justify it's runtime though and I got a bit bored by the end.
Rated 8/10
Everyone talks about the title track for obvious reasons, but honestly the rest of the album is really solid 60's psych as well. That absolute behemoth of a title track though, it's really an iconic song.
Rated 8/10
Really chill. Amazing vibes. I'm always into analogue electronic sounds and this one delivers.
Rated 10/10
Some of his greatest songs here. This album still holds up among his absolute best.

Even at the time all the circlejerking about 9/11 made me wary and in the intervening decades I feel like I've only been proven more and more right about how manipulative our government was and how much it utilized it to abuse us. Not interested in media glorifying that.
Rated 10/10
This is pretty forward-thinking for an album from 66. I love the varied instrumentation, and he has a great voice. The 8 minute raga track at the end really surprised me too.
Joplin's vocals are really powerful here. Instrumentally it has some solid moments that do capture a live intensity, but also some weaker ones that feel a bit tired. Overall a really enjoyable listen though.
Rated 2/10
Awful. Just everything I hate about classic rock and glam. Even down to the trashy cover. It occasionally tries to venture out into a more interesting mix of sounds, but then immediately turns back to the same crap.
Rated 8/10
Not the Jack White solo album I would've picked for this list but it's still very good. The man just knows how to write a damn good rock song.
Rated 8/10
Funky rock with some really nice production. I enjoyed the social commentary of it as well.
Rated 8/10
Really dope punk. I like how the sound is much more filled here and less stripped down than most punk from that era. Lots of delicious fuzz. The brass sections on some songs are amazing too.
