Look…I love Lana. I love this album. But it’s an odd choice for this considering she had Norman Fucking Rockwell which is the 🐐 and also the very influential Born to Die.

A woman scorned makes a damn near perfect album. Gen X guy here and I liked the songs then and now.

When an album pops up that I somewhat familiar with and don’t love, I instantly get in a certain mindset. And this is a very long album too. The good is she has a great voice. The bad is I just don’t prefer this style. I’ll give her three stars for vocal talent and really putting herself out there.

The most perfect white stripes album. Which makes it one of my favorites. I love these guys so much. Meg, don’t listen to the haters. Your drumming is integral to the band’s sound.

It’s good, but not great. An enjoyable listen that wears its influences on its sleeve. And that’s fine. But there are at least three other Lenny albums that are better… and I like Lenny.
With all due respect to Wu Tang, ATCQ is the best rap group ever.

Ahhh. The Dan. I didn’t appreciate them when I was younger. Now this is a go to album.

Easy 5 ⭐️ here. Hot take but i think it’s better than TPaB.

I can’t imagine a world where this is truly “essential” music. Zzzzzzzzz

What… and i emphasize… tha fuq.

I’ve always seen the cover. It’s eye catching and provocative. Now I’ve heard the music too. It’s neither ear catching or provocative.
Rated 10/10
One of the defining albums of my life. A cornerstone, not just of jazz, but all of modern music. When Coltrane is a sideman, it’s special.
Rated 4/10
When this album came out everyone (see: critics) raved about it. I gave it 2 listens and it didn’t click. Never listened since. Played today and I still don’t get it. Perfect album to use as an example for editing this list.
Rated 8/10
Well, I’m gobsmacked. I’ve heard of Common, but never heard him. I loved this. No matter what you think of Kanye just admit he’s a great producer. I loved this so my much it’s added to my account to listen to again.
Rated 10/10
My second favorite artist of all time. And his first masterpiece. Life on Mars and Changes alone give this 5 ⭐️

Hell…. As in hell nah.

Blur are ok. This is not their best album to me.
Another one from this band? Ugh. Even one is debatable.
Rated 8/10
Os Mutantes “Os Mutantes”. Yes! A psychedelic Brazilian album? More please. I do like this one a lot. I was a little familiar with it before thanks to my daughter, but this was my first dedicated full listen. Added to my streaming library. 4 ⭐️

Pulp “Different Class” strong 4 for me. Even as an American this album reached me and stayed with me. With all due respect to oasis and blur, Common People is THE anthem of britpop. But all of these songs are just so great and memorable. Different class, indeed.
