FrankAmy Winehouse

Rated 8/10

It's hard not to enjoy an Amy Winehouse song in my opinion. She could sing Mein Kampf and make it sound good. Some of the content feels dated (Stronger than Me) but it's hard to care when she's singing so beautifully.

I don't have any strong opinions on techno. I use it to drown out the neighbour's screaming kid when I'm trying to work from home. In that sense, it is the most useful music in the world.

I feel like I'm being slowly bashed over the head with an inflatable mallet with 'Britpop' written on it: It doesn't hurt but it gets annoying after an hour and 15 minutes. Even Bitter Sweet Symphony sounds dull to me and I don't think anyone would remember it if not for the violin. Apparently BBC Radio 1 listeners voted it the third best song ever... in 1998, one year after its release. 'Whatever' by Oasis is a better use of violin and that's a largely forgotten song.

All in all, the album is fine. I think it could have been a low 4 if it was shorter, but there really aren't any songs that warrant that score.

Rated 4/10

Beyonce went off the rails with this one. The two previous albums are full of iconic songs. There's nothing memorable here and it's far too long.

2 + 2 = Perfect album rating. Can someone check my math on that? I miss the old Kanye.

Kinda sounds like if Meat Loaf couldn't sing. Also, it has all these murder stories but doesn't mention the best murder song of all time: https://genius.com/Tim-robinson-the-day-robert-palins-murdered-me-lyrics

Not usually a reggae fan but I've always liked 'Jamming' since I heard it in S08E12 of The Simpsons so I'll give it an extra point for nostalgia

Sounds like They Might Be Giants mixed with Weird Al but isn't as good as either. It gets better as it goes on but never reaches a point where I'd want to listen to it again.

One of the GOATs. It's such a ridiculously over the top album and they use a motorbike as an instrument.
