I just can't understand why this band holds so much attention or such rabid acclaim from their fan base. It isn't abnormally different from any rock band of the era in spite of the image. It's sort of bland.

Bit droney and predictable. Feels like there just aren't choruses or resolution to the music. The lyrics feel canned and without significant meaning. None of this matters in some genres but they chose this one and I feel like it just lacks a punch. Not bad, but, it's background music isn't it?

I had forgotten all about this group! I actually just got lost in this 2 hour album and did chores around my house so...I have to give it a four? So much was accomplished because of sad lady and her robot. It was great!

I really think I wanted to like this more than I did. Right era and genre but for a couple of reasons I just didn't get with it. I didn't care for the mix which felt flat and I just couldn't get with the slight genre-bend. It was a bit like an off-brand cereal in that I dig the ingredients in theory but it just wasn't the profile I was looking for and enjoy.

I do not like Dylan. Yes, his music represents a massive shift in music but I don't think he is the wildly good lyricist that his fans seem to purport him to be. I don't care about his weird voice. I don't care about technical composition overly. I just think it isn't very good. There are exceptions in his catalogue but I won't accept that he is wildly amazing.

It was a metal album of the era until I got to the track Indians. That was a surprisingly progressive take for the genre and era. Still a three for me but it wasn't a chore or anything.

Great writing and a well composed album. Refined and maybe a bit fussy but dark enough thematically to remain interesting.
