I understand why this is on the list, introducing the UK to hip hop, etc. but it had really worn out it's welcome by about the half way point. Double Dutch is a good song, and there are a few other interesting ideas. But overall its just bland. The interludes are annoying also. The last song should be considered a crime against humanity

I enjoy the sound of this album overall, and the atmosphere it creates, but it doesn't have the magic that Disintegration has. Apart from One Hundred Years and The Hanging Gardens, no real standout tracks for me.

This was a bit surprise for me, as normally I'm not into country at all. But after two listens, I find the stories told via these lyrics so interesting, and Dolly delivers them with such personality, it was a great listen. Especially love the title track and Early Morning Breeze (gorgeous instrumentation on that one). I may be overdue a deep dive into Dolly's discography!

Enjoyed the dancier tracks on this, but found the ballads quite cheesy. "Don't Stop" is a fantastic song, but overall not as good as Thriller.

I'll admit, I groaned when this popped up. But I'll try to give it a fair listen. Now that the hype has died down somewhat I'm not too opposed to a bit of Adele!

Ok, this album was pretty much what I expected unfortunately. I get why it appeals to so many people, but it's just not for me. Most of the songs follow a very set quiet verse/loud chorus, then emotional key change, formula that just makes me cringe. The instrumental intro in "Water Under the Bridge" sounds so like the generic copyright free music you hear in YouTube ads, it actually made me laugh out loud. I did enjoy "Hello", "Remedy" and "Million Years Ago", but as a whole this album is a no from me, dawg.

I only knew Vitamin C from Can before, but always heard how influential they were. So I kind of expected this to be overrated. But it really isn't! I was blown away by how innovative and interesting this was, for the time. There wasn't much else this wildly experimental in 1971. I didn't find the longer songs to drag at all surprisingly, in fact the album didn't feel as long as it is. I listened to this on decent headphones (Cans, if you will), which really helped me appreciate the weird layering of effects and strange sound effects. I think a lot of the modern music I listen to today has strong roots in this album.

Wow, really enjoyed this! I remember having a few of their singles downloaded on my iPod when I was a teenager, but never listened to any of their albums. I got tired of hearing Bohemian Like You absolutely everywhere, so I think I kinda wrote them off. Was fully expecting this to be a 3 star max. But I've really been missing out! Sure they wear their influences on their sleeves and it runs a bit too long. But there's very little on here I disliked. It's almost like they picked up where the Pixies left off (I like to pretend that they quit after Kim Deal Left), with a healthy dose of shoegaze and Stereolab. I feel like Zach Braff is probably obsessed with this band. That album cover though - hideous. The 2nd half drags a bit, but I could see myself bumping this up to 5 stars with repeated listens.

I found this very hit and miss. It's also kitbon Tidal or Spotify, so was annoyingly interrupted by ads between each song. Although there were elements of it I liked, I'm giving this a 1 star, because it's not "essential" in any way. Skylarking, on the other hand, does very much belong on this list. It's one of the best discoveries I've had from the generator so far. I just don't think XTC are significant enough to have multiple albums on this list.

Haven't listened to anything by Thelonious Monk before as far as I know, but I love this! Will definitely be listening to more of his stuff.

Obviously a very important album, birthing heavy metal and all. But they massively improved on everything here on "Paranoid", which is a much better album. The first half of this is great though;

This is another hidden gem that I was hoping to find via this generator. Never heard of these guys before. Hard to believe this was 1966, before the Velvet Underground even! Not all of the songs on here are super memorable, and a couple are a tad formulaic, but they get major bonus points for originality and experimentation.

Doesn't really do much for me. Very reminiscent of Jefferson Airplane and the Grateful Dead, both of whom I find pretty mediocre. Not sure what I'm missing here. There certainly is a lot of bad blues rock on this list.

This was about as boring as I expected it to be. Not bad, just boring. I almost forgot I was listing to it by the end. Take it Easy is objectively a great song though, so I can't justify a 1 star here.

Enjoyed this a lot, it was a great one to have on while cooking dinner. Not something I would listen to often, but it is an interesting mix of a few different genres. I found some of the songs to be quite transportative - felt like I was back in New Orleans for a bit!

This album is a masterpiece, and I feel sorry for the people who mentioned that they gave up after 2 or 3 songs. The lyrics of Backstreet Freestyle are not meant to be taken seriously, they are there to set up the main character arc of the immature teenager who grows by the end of the album. I don't understand how some people will happily delve into complex layers of lyrics written by rock and folk musicians, but then they completely shut off that part of their brain when they hear a rap. The storytelling and flows on this album are some of the best I've heard from a hip hop artist. The run from Good Kid to Sing About Me is flawless. It improves on everything that the original gangsta rappers like NWA, Snoop, etc failed with, by offering a critique of the gangsta lifestyle, and describing the context behind it. Don't get me wrong, there are still some sexist lyrics here. But the difference is the narrative around them, IMO anyway. The only songs I ever skip are Poetic Justice and Real, apart from those I think this is close to a perfect album.

Enjoyed this album in general, nice chill out vibes. But aside from the two songs I already knew I didn't find it that memorable. I can see why it's considered influential though, it fits in well with the likes of Stereolab, Happy Mondays, Primal Scream, etc.

There's great playing on this album, it sounds like an incredible show! The sound quality lets it down a bit though. Still a pretty great introduction to Duke Ellington for me though. I'll definitely be checking out more of his recordings.

Hadn't come across this one before, I only know Things Fall Apart. This is a bit of a mad album, so many different styles and experiments. I like about half of the songs after 2 listens, but I could see it growing on me over time.

This stands out a bit from some of the early punk albums, in terms of sound. They really took what the Velvet Underground were doing and went even grungier. Apart from that, it's not super interesting though. Really basic lyrics and kinda creepy in places, given what we know now about Iggy's fondness for underage girls. That slow jam song is really boring too.

Fantastic album. Not one I'm very familiar with, or so I thought. Turns out I know a load of the songs on here, all solid gold!
