Never heard it before and didn't need to hear it.
Third 1996 album I've encountered that didn't deserve a place when Ænima by Tool and Pinkerton by Weezer both came out in 1996.
2.5/5. Raising to 3.

Very strong start and finish. The rest is ok, nowhere near the peaks. 3/5.

I had convinced myself this could be a potential 5 and I've heard the album before.
She has a great vocal, I want to give extra credit for her writing most of the songs and producing it but theres a lot of evidence to show she didn't credit her collaborators correctly.
The "uh uh uh" on every 2nd song gets tiresome, it also runs too long.
4/5.

This really opened and was set up for a great album but its struggles. Too many uninteresting instrumentals and some songs just landed flat. 2.5/5. Raising to a 3.

3rd Bowie album. It's decent. IMO so far Bowie seems to be an artist that has a lot of albums that have 2-3 great songs and the rest are fine or lacklustre. I don't think I'll be encountering a perfect 5/5 album from him but this list has given him 9 chances.
2.5/5. Raising to 3.

An 90s classic that I'm very familiar with already. So many great songs on here. 5/5.

It's fine. Not as good as Born to Run. 2.5/5. Raising to 3.

One of five Byrds albums that doesn't deserve a place on the list. Some poor covers mixed with some average. The album is all over the place. I'm sure it's here for "cultural and historical significance" but fuck that, it's weak. 2/5.

Immediately thought of the XX with the female vocal and electronica vibe. It's an easy listen. Nothing to be super excited about but nothing terrible either. 3/5.
Rated 8/10
Handful of great 90s alt-rock songs. Rating this higher than Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness because it's shorter. 3.5/5. Raising to a 4.

Pretty interesting. I liked the sax and I tend to like a female punk vocal. 3/5.

Listened to Disc 1. Not bad, not great, it's got decent lyrics but no way am I listening to another 2 discs of this. 2.5/5. Raising to 3.

Disintegration is already on the list and its the first I got so the rest are going to pale in comparison. Dont think we need to listen to 3 Cure albums before we die. 2.5/5. Raising to a 3.
Rated 10/10
One of the all time great Heavy Metal albums. Run's a little long. 2 or so tracks could have been cut for a tighter album. 4.5/5. Raising to 5.
PS
I'm just over a quarter of the way through this list now. I'm all for expanding my music knowledge/taste but my feeling is there is more disappointment than gems to be found. Starting to believe there isn't 1001 albums worth listening to before you die and this list could seriously be condensed. We'll keep trucking along though.

Who new the Exorcist Theme was part of a 26 minute long Prog Rock track? I certainly didn't. Deserves a place on the list. Just not a major Prog Rock fan. 3/5.

Not for me but can see how they are for others. 3/5.

The UK bias strikes again. Ignoring that it's fine. Well produced. Definitely Nelly Furtado vibes, which is odd since she is supposed to be from London. Looks like Nelly Furtado didn't make the list. Loose deserves a place above this. 2.5/5. Raising to 3.

You should really read the up on this one before writing it off as beep boop beep music.
This is out there even by todays standards. Imagine listening to Phaedra in 1974. 3/5.

Never heard this before. Old-school hip-hop in an era dominated by commercialised "gangsta" rap. Better than most. Probably wouldn't relisten though. 3/5.
