I liked it. 3.5/5. Raising to 4.
I don't know how he sung like that without losing his voice. Vocals are raw and gritty unlike his super polished singles. 4/5.

Changes and Life on Mars are all time greats. Bowie could have arguably the greatest compilation album of all time. I've yet to come across an album of his that is all bangers. The pattern is 2-3 greats and the rest is average. 3.5/5. Raising to 4.

Never heard of em. Didn't need to. 2/5.

Mediocre. Inoffensive. 3/5.

Not the biggest fan of prog rock but this is ok as far as prog rock goes. 3/5.
Rated 8/10
Preferred it to the other Dylan albums that have cropped up. 3.5/5. Raising to 4.

Liked the orchestral elements the most. Good album overall but I don't think it sets itself apart from other albums released at the time. 3.5/5. Raising to 4.

Solid funk. 3/5
One of those 'important in the history of music' albums. Certainly not one with strong hooks, emotional intensity, groove, or lyrical payoff. 2/5.
Rated 4/10
Nope. Didn't need to listen to this entire album of mostly instrumentals. I'm sure it's a important soundtrack historically but I don't think it's deserving of a place on the list. 2/5.
Rated 6/10
Disappointing album. Not as stupid/fun as Licensed To Ill.
Sabotage is the stand out track. 20 tracks is too many. Bunch of stuff could have been cut here. 2.5/5. Raising to 3.
Rated 8/10
One of those albums I'm pleased the list has generated since I was unaware of it before and it stands out from the majority.
About 30 mins in I thought I'd had my fill though but it won me back. Super impressive. 3.5/5. Raising to 4.

Controversial one. I think the cultural appropriation arguments are stupid. Breaching the boycott is a different story. Rating this album solely on what I heard and there's some great stuff here. That bass is special. You can call me Al is iconic. Under African Skies was a bit cringey though. 4/5.
Rated 6/10
Personal Jesus and Enjoy the Silence are great. Rest of the album just doesn't stack up. 2.5/5. Raising to 3.
Rated 2/10
I'm sure there is lyrical depth and good storytelling but I can't listen to this man. My god his voice is truly awful and I just can't get past it. 1/5.

Cool album, really surprised I'm not more familiar with The Zombies. I've heard Time of the Season through ads and movies numerous times but I would never have been able to identify the band.
I can see how Pet Sounds and Sgt Peppers would have influenced this album. 3.5/5. Raising to a 4.
Rated 6/10
I was thinking this probably isn't getting a fair shake in 2026 when this clearly influenced so many other future bands. I then tried to place other albums before and after and noticed Led Zep released albums I-IV before this and they are timeless, so maybe it's influential but just not very good. 2.5/5, raising to 3.

I was originally excited when I saw LCD Soundsystem. I was then disappointed. Not sure why this warranted a place on the list. Sound of Silver deserves a place. The what happens next albums don't. This fat list needs trimming. 2/5.
